I have been a BOA customer since 2001. BOA just decided to start charging me $8.95 for monthly maintenance, when it has always been $5.95 per month. I called them and asked why has this happened, they can't tell me why.

I have 5 accounts with BOA and all but one have these charges attached to them which means they are now getting $35.80 per month from me for no reason what so ever. They claim this is for their services, which really don't do anything for me because I don't use them.

This is extorsion! They received all that bail out money from our tax dollars and now they have to pay this back, once again at the tax payer's expense.

If you are a loyal customer, you should get a discount instead of being charged more.

I suggest all BOA customers check your statements for the maintenance charges.

Nothing To Do With Bailout

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

All banks are increasing fees. Fee increase has nothing to do with the bailout. However, if I complained about fees, the probable reason for the increase is for all the idiots who decided to sue BofA without any legal reason to do so and decided to settle the various class-action lawsuits. I expected fees to increase in order to cover the deductibles they had to pay the insurance company.

There are no winners in class action lawsuits except the lawyers.

The bailout received was more for the guilt the government feels after deciding to not back the Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae loans the banks issued on their behalf, only to later find out the insurance on those loans would not help the banks out either, thanks to AIG.
