Bank of America is the biggest scam credit card company I have ever dealt with. I have a 750 credit score - always pay every bill on time. I decided to take Bank of America up on an offer of 0% balance transfer for 12 months. They approved my application, gave me an $18,000 credit line and transferred the $9000 from my other card. So far so good.
Today, I get back from vacation, KNOWING that today the payment is due. I neglected to schedule payment in auto-bill-pay as I do with all other bills but knew I would be home today. I go on their website to pay and noticed that payment wouldnt post until tomorrow, which would make the payment a day late (even so I am physically paying it today, which is on time)!!
So I call customer service, ask if I can make transfer payment or any type of payment via phone. Rep said sure, but it's after 5pm so payment will post tomorrow. I asked, "If it posts tomorrow, will I loose my 0% deal?". She said "Yes, of course you will - becuase the payment is late." I told her to close account IMMEDIATELY and proceeded to transfer full amount back to my other card (5 years, never had a problem with my other credit card company). I am DONE with Bank of America.
SO... Becuase Bank of America's system wouldnt post the payment until tomorrow, even so I am making every attempt to pay the payment ON the due date, they would jack my rate from 0% to the default rate. She (the nasty rep) also said that I was going to be charged a $39 late fee.
STAY AWAY FROM BANK OF AMERICA! I was warned my a good friend but didnt listen. They are a complete scam - even to us folks with perfect credit scores. I hate to see what they do to folks with less than perfect credit.

Fico 750, is hardley perfect. If you read the back of your statement you'll find information about how the bank posts your payments. After 5 pm in the evening most banks are closed, so why would anyone think that they can make a payment and have it processed in time. Usually when i go on vacation I make arrangments for all my bills to ensure i don't have this problem. Its all there on your statment. I've never had a problem and if I have been late (not because my bills can wait because I am on VACATION ) i have paid the fee and moved on. No Rip Off here
