I went to 4 tea party events, a friend of mine is a member even though I can't for the life of me understand why, and all I got from them was that our education system has failed. The beginnings of the tea party movement were good but then the crazy, uneducated fools took control and turned them into a cult of ignorance. There is no truth to be found at a tea perty meeting, only rhetoric copied from Fox news (which proved how little they care about the actual news and are only twisting things to further the platform of the owner of the network because he wants even more omney). The whole "you didn't build that" fiasco proved that fact. They took one line out of a speech, taken out of context, twisted around so it no longer says even remotely what was actually said, and then force fed to the uneducated masses that ate it up like starving babies. And the tea party ate it all up. After that I no longer trust a single word that is said, with good reason, and am actually starting to think that the freedom of press needs to be taken away from the vile creatures that run that channel that feed into peoples fears and report just enough of the news (definantly not EVER the whole story) to further their political platform. Never trust a politically motivated news network. You will NEVER get the whole story. Fox news is the worst of them all and just that one little instance, even though there are tons of them and they have never once retracted any of the nonsense, is proof of what they are all about. Try getting your news from a non mainstream news source. Or at least from the AP. they are the least politically motivated of all of the mainstream news networks. Its a sad day for the Republican party when even the Colbert Report (Which is a Republican sided news commentary show) no longer supports what they are doing and says that they are full of crap. Just once I want to vote between two GOOD candidates and have our political parties and news sources all stop the lying and actually care about our country. The tea party has forgotten it's roots and has joined the uneducated, raving lunatic fringe.
