We were offered an opportunity for a casting call from DMG Model Management meeting with S.M. Stephan. This company was grouped with Barbizon Modeling Center.  Ms. Stephan ran both companies and had a piggyback system going.  She agreed to review our daughter after just a few classes to improve some of our daughters skills and talents.  We paid $1100 in payments for tuition for her enrollment with Barbizon with being promised a graduation and fashion show in Dallas.  We were contacted by phone that the graduation date was rescheduled and it should be some time in December or January.  I never heard from them again and she was to receive her diploma as well plus 1 years worth of review classes from Barbizon.  I contacted Stephan today by email and she told me that DMG is no longer in business with Barbizon because it was sold to Barbizon USA out of Tampa FL but she would forward my email to the CEO of the company.  Also when we were going through this presentation they mentioned that since this was a school that it would be tax deductible but I found out that is not true.  She further mentioned that I'm welcome to bring my daughter to DMG on their open call and they would love to take another look at her.

I'm upset not because she's not with a company but that we were not notified in writing or verbally that this company changed hands and we were provided with all the services we were promised.  Graduation in Dallas, Graduation Certificate, & an opportunity to be represented by DMG Model Management upon successful completion of program and paid tuition.  We were left in the dark.  They took our money, did a few classes and told us not to bother Ms. Stephan that she would contact us for a graduation date. What can I do.

Forget Barbizon. Go to John Casablancas

AUTHOR: Yvette - ()

POSTED: Thursday, May 02, 2013

Barbizon sounds like a money grabbing industry.  But John Casablanca school of modeling and talent (mainly acting) is both a school and an agency who WILL get you work after graduation if you qualify....to qualify means working with the tools they give you in classes and practicing on your own a lot to improve your skills.  The photos aren't as outrageously expensive as Barbizon's - instead of paying around 400 - 500 dollars the cost of a photoshoot along with your cd of the shoot and a 8X10 headshot is only 60.00 in my city.  The photographer is very professional and everyone is happy with their photos.

After 20 class sessions and graduation, J.C. does not ask for any more of your money and you can continue to attend classes as much as you want for 3 more years for FREE.  The initial enrollment fee is just under 2,000.00 but the classes are definitely well worth your time and money.

Try it, you'll like it if you are serious about learning about the business of acting and/or modeling. You'll be happier with John Casablancas.
