I do not have a Bare Minerals/Bare Escentuals store anywhere in MI, and have seen numerous informercials recommending the product. What follows below is the account of the rip off- which is what I sent to Bare Escentuals (and Leslie) to inform them of what happened to me at their store:

Leslie/Sir (or Madam)-

I am writing as a first time customer of the Bare Minerals products. I live in MI and when on vacation in Chicago, IL I visited the Bare Escentuals store within the Water Tower Place and was helped by Drake this past weekend. Not only was he very unprofessional, but he did not explain to me the make up application or much of the product line at all. Despite this, I decided to purchase the medium/medium beige starter kit for $75 (which looked DARK on me in the natural light), which Drake informed me was the best deal we could find... and took his advice not to go to Sephora or other stores that sell the brand. In addition to that, I also purchased the summer bisque concealer and a golden gate blush. All of this merchandise comes to a total of approximately $140. When I look on the website, I see I could have recieved MUCH MORE product, application brushes, etc. and I am throughly disappointed in the merchandise and your brand for this reason.

I don't think it is right to charge people more in the store than you would for the 'store' online or to tell customers not to go to other stores to investigate the difference in prices- (I SPECIFICALLY asked if the kit and additional merchadise was cheaper online or in another store and was told that it wasn't). I do like the brand, and would consider keeping to it if I were compensated the extra materials that I would have received if I purchased the items online. My sister also purchased a starter kit and four eyeshadows- so she was ripped off just as much as I was by buying in your store! We cannot believe it!!! If you want to keep us as customers (and gain future customers through our word of mouth), please do something to fix this... I thought I had found the answer to my acne spots and problems, but this is just causing more irritation than the acne ever did.

I appreciate you dealing with this manner in a timely fashion.

Thank you in advance.

**After months of no contact from any of the Bare Escentuals representatives, I am filing this report. I do not believe that these are the business practices of an honest business and with the failure to rectify the situation, I will no longer purchase this line of make up and encourage you to do the same.

Not Surprising, honestly...

First of all I'm also so sick of people saying the company is losing a customer. I would never dream of emailing a representative or the CREATOR of the product and making an fool out of myself by saying that. Especially amidst a multi-million dollar company. Id also like to add the fact that the product 'making your skin break out and making worse' is not the company's fault. Im a lisenced ethetician and Ill let you know that just because one product is amazing for one person doesnt mean its amazing for all people. Everyones skin is different.
