I purchased a Groupon from the Bare Essence Med Spa spending $155.00 for 6 medium area hair removal sessions. I only received one on June 15, 2013. I had another scheduled for July 17, when I recieved an email that my next appointment was cancelled due to a location change. The email I received read:

We are having to cancel  your upcoming appt. due to A/C problems. We will be relocating to a new location shortly. As of right now, we do not have an exact location but will most likely be around the same area. Please watch our our website as we will updating it as we find out more. We will not be taking appts til about early to mid September . We hope to be moved, up and running by then. Please be patient as we go through this transition. Any further questions, please email.  We apologize for any inconvenience. We Thank You for your business and patience, Bare Essence Med Spa

I waited several weeks, checking their website for their new location as they suggested. I didn't get worried until mid-to-end of September when their website no longer worked. I called to discover their phone number no longer worked either. I sent them the following response on October 1, 2013.

Hi, I've been checking your website occasionally and I have still not seen a new location. Today I'm finding the website is no longer active. When I purchased a groupon (groupon link here) I spent $155.00 for 6 medium area sessions. I only received one session on June 15, 2013 before receiving this email about your location change. Obviously something is wrong. I would like to know whether I will be receiving the additional 5 sessions I paid for. If not, I'd like my money reimbursed. Please contact me immediately.

I am obviously out the money I paid for this service. There are several people on Yelp and other review websites that are remarking they received the same treatment. It's unfortunate, I liked the service they provided and was happy to pay for it but I did not receive what I paid for.

Groupon did help me out

AUTHOR: momiller - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, December 04, 2013

Just a little follow-up, Groupon did help me out and reimbursed most of my money in Groupon Dollars for another service. They were very helpful and sincere about it. This doesn't really effect my direct complaint against Bare Essence ripping me off...but Groupon did help me recoup my loss.

I contacted Groupon and told them exactly that (since this happened to me after 2 sessions).  They gave me groupon.com credit for the remaining amount of session.
