The course was advertised as taking 20 days to complete and that you will be able to immediately start earning money as a travel writer upon completion. The course cost $200 and was a complete rip off. I learned more from purchasing a $10 book from Amazon. They only send 1 course per week and each course only took about 10-15 minutes to complete. The information in each course can be found for free on the internet. I was very disappointed and sent them an email requesting a refund.  They never responded.  Do not waste your money on this course. All the information can be found on the (((competitor's name redacted))) website for free.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. Response to criticism of program

AUTHOR: Winton Churchill - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, January 21, 2013
Regarding your comment that, "The course was advertised as taking 20 days to complete and that you will be able to immediately start earning money as a travel writer upon completion."

First, I want to apologize if you have not received your refund but we always refund as requested within our 60 day guarantee period.

It is certainly possible that an email you sent didnt make it to us but it wasnt an attempt
to ignore you. Email can be unreliable at times and it is possible that your email didnt make it to us.

As mentioned we provide our phone number to members and also have a support link on our site where you can enter your refund request directly into our support system.

We make refunds promptly and have a professional system for processing them.

Secondly our program is not a travel writing program, it is a program that trains you on how
to be a freelancer. Freelancers work in a variety of different areas depending on their skills, background and experience.

As with all training programs individual results will vary depending upon the time, and energy you put into the process. There are 43 different components to the course including approximately 300 pages of written lesson materials, 4.5 hours of video instruction and 8 hours of audio materials and interviews.

In addition we fully support the product with monthly group conference calls and 4 8-week Challenges throughout the year that include weekly calls to help members get started.

Here is a recent email from a member who had a different experience than yours:
http://www.barefootconsultants.com/public/Email-From-Happy-Now-Freelancing-Member.cfm

---Regarding your statement that the course cost $200 and was a complete rip off.

Everything is relative but we are providing a freelancing course that has members frequently reporting earning back their original investment, some within as little as a few weeks.

Did you watch the videos?

Did you read and DO the exercises and activities in the lessons.

Did you listen to the interview with the 5 successful freelancer who shared their insight on
how to get started?

Did you participate in the monthly group calls or the 8-week Challenge program?

Did you send the response in to support we request in lesson 5 to make sure you are on target
with the program?

Did you send us your completed (or partially completed) profile as we recommend so we can
provide recommendations and feedback on that?

Regarding your statement that I learned more from purchasing a $10 book from
Amazon.

Good for you! Most of us need a little more than a book to do something new and unfamiliar like freelancing. That is why we have so many videos, audios and group calls as well as 1 on 1 support for our purchasers.

----Regarding your complaint, They only send 1 course per week and each course only took about 10-15 minutes to complete.

There are 18 lessons that are sent once per week.  The course members are primarily people who work for a living and can only devote 1 to 3 hours to the course materials.

For those that have more time, we are happy to (and frequently do) send lessons on an accelerated rate.

One of the big failure patterns of people who do this type of training is that they flip through all the materials instead of doing them.  Between the lessons, videos and audios that are sent to members each week they will typically spend 1 to 3 hours working through each lesson.

Hard to imagine completing that 10 to 15 minutes as you stated.

----Regarding your comment that the information in each course can be found for free on the internet

Well a lot of information can be found on the internet free, however much of it is conflicting if not completely wrong.

This is a step-by-step process that is more organized than surfing the internet looking for information and will save many hours of trial and error activity for somebody who wants to do this type of work.

We have carefully developed this course based in part on extensive private interviews with freelancers and as such I believe much of this information is not available free on the internet.

Again, happy to refund your money if you dont feel the course is good for you.

----I was very disappointed and sent them an email requesting a refund.  They never responded.  Do not waste your money on this course.

If you will provide your email address we will check our records.  We promptly respond to refund requests and have a 3 year track record on this.  We have a 60 day moneyback guarantee and if you find the program doesn't work for you, you have only to request your money back.

We have 3 people doing customer service and provide our phone number to course purchasers.

I want to personally apologize if you didn't receive your refund but we always refund as requested within our 60 day guarantee period.

It is certainly possible that an email you sent didnt make it to us but it wasnt an attempt to ignore you. Email can be unreliable at times and it is possible that your email didnt make it to us.

As mentioned we provide our phone number to members and also have a support link on our site where you can enter your refund request directly into our support system.

Signed,

Winton Churchill, founder
Barefoot Consultants, Inc.

If you look at their domain registration via WHOIS you'll see that they have a private registration. This means that the domain owner and address are cloaked. They don't want anyone to know where they're located. Their website has no real contact info other than a generic email page. Legitimate companies have real addresses, real phone numbers and real email addresses.

IMO, this is a scam operation. I would avoid it.
