Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

I recently ordered business cards from on February 28, 2011.
On March 5, 2011 I received my order HOLY %$@# What a disappointment!!
I will NEVER order anything from them again!!

The online proof they showed me of what my business cards would look like DID NOT match the crappy business cards that I received. See the photos below that show the snapshot of the PROOF they showed me and the image of the cards that I received.

This is the proof of the front
(see photos at

This is the proof of the back
Notice the amount of white space around the logo on the front of the card

Notice the amount of white space around the copy/text on the back of the card

I think both proofs looked great so I approved the job to be printed BUT take a look at what they sent me

They printed it right to the edge of the card and it looks SLOPPY! (Nothing like the proof)

They printed the copy right to the edge and even cut off letters!
This looks NOTHING like the proof!!!!!

Would you use these business cards??? I certainly hope not!!
What would a customer think of you as a business person if you used such sloppy cards?
They would probably worry that if this type of business card is acceptable to you then what else do you think will be acceptable in your work that really isnt?

Just like the sloppy and crappy job that did on these cards is totally UNACCEPTABLE!!!

They DID NOT print these cards properly and it was a HUGE waste of money! The cards I ordered were 2 sided full color cards. The proof shows plenty of white space around my logo on the front of my card and plenty of white space around the text/copy on the back of my cards BUT take a look at the CRAPPY cards they sent me. The logo is printed right to the edge and looks horrible. The text/copy on the back is also printed right to the edge and partially cut-off.

(see photos at (((link redacted))))

I think you would agree that these cards are unusable.

I would NEVER give these to a potential customer as a representation of my business! would you?!

How did reply?

Here is their reply:
Thank you for choosing for your printing needs. I apologize that your order had not come out as you had expected. However, all sales with Bargain Basement Printing are final and we do not offer re-prints or refunds on any orders. Skylr, thank you again for choosing Bargain Basement Printing.

What a JOKE?
This is their idea of customer service.

They are a very short-sighted company and my prediction is that they WILL NOT be in business very long.

How short-sighted is it to not refund or reprint the job since now I will NEVER re-order from them and I will tell everyone I know about my experience.

They sell other much more expensive printing services such as flyers, brochure and presentation folders all of which I will need at some point. So they keep my $20 but only to lose THOUSANDS of dollars in future sales from me.

What do you think? Are you sick of companies like treating customers like they dont matter?

I only lost $20 but c'mon - it's the principle! This has to be the worst printing company ever!

Car Example

AUTHOR: Anony - ()

The example you used of buying a car does not make a good anology. In that case you are actually seeing the REAL car, even if it's just pictures it's the physical car that exists. The proof isn't something that there's a physical object yet. The proof is just that, a proof. A digital version of something that doesn't exist yet. The car already exists.

Your rebuttal holds no merit

AUTHOR: Sky - (United States of America)

Here is why your rebuttal holds no merit. If the campany doing the printing shows you a proof and says "Here is what the end result will look like"...and the end result is not printed properly and has images or wording cut off - then whose fault is it?

The person who ordered OR the company that said "Hey - here is what you can expect"

Whether you order 1,000 business cards or 10,000 flyers - the job should be printed correctly.

Especially when the company you are buying from shows you a PROOF

If the image or file was uploaded with the wrong sizing, or contained images or wording outside the template then the proof should have shown it.

How hard is that to comprehend?

If you want to buy a car and the dealership sends you pictures and it looks like it's in great shape and tells you it's brand new and so you buy it - but they deliver it all smashed up like it was in a wreck - would you as the buyer accept blame?

I don't think so.

Bargain Basement Printing is Not For Amateurs

AUTHOR: Colby - (United States of America)

I have been a customer of Bargain Basement Printers for several year and they have produced a quality product every time I order. Their prices on volume quantities are amazing and have saved me $1000s on printing costs.

That's right there is no customer service because their customer base is professionals who do not need their hand held. So if you are looking to print a few business cards go to Staples. If you are printing 10,000 brochures, you are knowledgeable of print design, set up and you want the lowest cost in the internet besides China or India BBP is the right choice.
