Please if anyone reads this DO NOT go to this facility. I promise you that she beats dogs. I don't mean a little pop on the nose for biting. I mean a full blown punch for being too old to stand up. She was fired from her last employer for this and I promise it is true!
No-one wanted to press charges on her because she was in Kidney failure and they were trying to give her a chance to get a job with insurance. Never in a million years did they believe she would get her own "SPA". Now I feel compelled to report this somehow. I just want people to know.
Tammy is a very unpredictable person, she doesnt seem happy in life and that reflects in her work. Your animals are completely helpless. Please listen to what I say and dont bring your dogs to her, and if for some reason you were to, pay attention to their body language when you pick them up. They will always let you know.
You should also ask how many dogs she grooms per day. Divide it by the hours opened and decide if you want your dog being handled for less than 30 minutes. Can you imagine how frustrated she will get with your dog trying to have it done in 30 minutes. I promise it will be hit or choked at some point.
Her last employer thought they were doing the best thing by firing her and that it would make things better. But this makes them feel like they worked so hard and made all of these efforts to not support animal cruelty just so she can open her own business (with family working there so it will never be reported again) and may end up successful.
Well I do know this, I will sleep a little better knowing that I did at least report it so that people can judge for themselves and have a heads up!!

I guess you don't want to address the REAL issue here, so I would like to thank the original poster for the heads up! As an educated consumer, I will sadly avoid "Bark" doggie Spa for my pet just because the owner has to be under waaaaay too much stress with an serious illness like Kidney Failure. Sorry, but there are way too many other wonderful pet groomers in Athens that can wash, and clip a dog within that time frame. I for one just love how Jane cuts my dog from "The Whisker Wagon," and the other girl at "Yaps Fifth Avenue" behind Homewood Hills Shopping Center is just awesome, and much cheaper than everyone else if you can get an appointment with her.

Who ever wrote that ''story '' only has part of it right. Yes Tammy has kidney failure and yes she has opened a dog spa with her family but she only spends the time required to accutaly cut the dogs hair! She is a master groomer who has traveled to JAPAN to demonstrate. She does not bathe, do toe nails or anal glands.She grooms the dog and happens to be so addept at it that if it is a simple groom it might omly take her 30 minutes. Just like when we ladies get our hair done my stylist doesn't wash my hair the wash girl does, her time is money! (not that whom ever wrote that post has been some place other than great clips, if that.)
Trust your pet will get well cared for at Bark dog spa. I have three dogs a 7 yr old shepard, a 13 yr. old collie and a 2 yr. old mix. All who have been regularly groomed at Bark and they love it and look great.
