Basements USA Walter Miller Horrible Contractor Home Remodeling Renovation Nightmare Woodford, Virginia

I entered into a contract with Walter Miller and Bart Miller of Basements USA. The contract was  labor only  for $24000 for an 8 week job. I paid them $18000 after 6 weeks of showing up late or not showing up at all to work. These guys  did not finish one part of my house. They missed 20% of the scheduled work days.

The work preformed was horrible and not up to building codes. They painted my walls without properly mudding and sanding the walls. When I confronted them. They said that "oh we will sand the walls later". They used wet pressure treated wood in my whole basement. They did not install a proper fireblock as required by building codes between the cement walls and frame. They installed the insulation touching the underground basement cement walls (there suposed to be a gap between the basement walls and the insulation to allow the walls to breath and keep the insulation from picking up moister). The drywall in my basement started to mildew from the wet pressure treated wood. I now have to tear out my whole basement to have it done correctly.

Also they were supposed to  installed a new bathroom in my basement. They cut the concrete floors and installed the plumbing. They buried the pvc drain pipes. I dug the pipes up to inspect their work. Not one pipe was glued. They just installed the drain pipes without on drop of glue. They also failed to install a P-Trap in the bathtub drain.

These guys run a scam team. They figured out a way to steal from people without breaking through a window. They have a nice looking contract. Which they do not follow.

They come to your house take your money. THey do not finish anything and mess up what they do. At the end when you file any complaint against them. For $58 in court filing fees. They file a lawsuit against you for $25,000 saying you owe them for extra work they performed.

They have done this to numerous homeowners. They always lose the court case which they don't mind. They use the court to wear out and intimidate the homeowner until the homeowner just walks away.
