These are things that I notice that this bank does that would make me stay away from them.

1. When you use your debit card, the charge will go through, yet you can still get a NSF charge. I asked the bank how is this, if I use my DEBIT card that would mean the money is there, otherwise it would refuse it. They stated no, it can still accept charges! This is absurd! Just one way for them to get you on a NSF charge.

2. Credit Card transactions on your Visa/Debit Card, if you use your card the transaction is instant, yet if the company you did the charge at does not send BB&T the paperwork with in 24 hours, the bank will put the funds BACK into your account, so then your balance changes, yet you still do not show why funds are now back in your account as there is no charge item listing, then finally when the paper does come in they will carge it back onto your account. How confusing is this?

3. They will let a check come through on your account if they see your paycheck is coming through from auto deposit, and charge you $32.00 NSF for that check and any other items, as they know you have a paycheck coming in that same night. I have seen this happen on 2 occasions, a check gets processed the same night that they show my auto deposit check coming in, yet they say its not actually there (yet my balance shows current available = with check credited minus NSF) so they hit me with NSF charges. My paycheck is there it is auto deposit so it is not like a check where it needs 24 hours to clear, the auto deposit is cleared. Plus why allow the check to come in, charge me the NSF on that 1 item, and the others come through. This to me is just looking for ways to take money from the customer.

Look for a small bank or credit union, this bank will try to eat you up in NSF charges, and not like I had bounced a check many times to get hit with 32 dollar charge. The first time I got hit with NSF for a Debit that took me over my limit (how that can happen I have no idea) they hit me with 32 dollars. Usually a first time NSF charge is 15 dollars, and if you are a repeat offender it goes up from there.

32 dollar NSF is just absurd especially when it should not be there in the first place, I have seen where that Debit charge took me over by 4 dollars, and bam NSF 32 charge.. is this a bank that cares about their customer? This is a bank that is looking to hit you with NSF charges anytime they can.

Debit charges, should never put you account in NSF, because the debit should be taken out at that moment you use it, and if the money is not there you should not be allowed to use it.
