BB&T is creative ripoff banking at its best.  No matter when you make your deposits, or when you've made your charges, they find a way to hold your deposit, run your charges, charge you fees, then add back in your deposits.  And, it seems to be periodic.  (just like one other member here reported seems it happens about every 6 months) 

BB&T has actually held my cash deposits for more than 24 hours, then run all possible charges, add fees, then put back in my money.  I tried to figure this out, right?  After all it is just a bank, I should understand the system.  So, a couple of times it seemed very strange, I went in and talked to them. 

Here's what happens, no matter what your banking receipt tells you is your available balance, here's what they've explained to me:
You made a deposit in cash, that day, they hold it.  (never mind if online banking shows your available balance including it.)
First, they run all ACH deductions,
then they run debit and check deductions,
then they charge fees for ALL of them if they posted the same night, no matter if you had 180 dollars, your total charges were 200, and let's say each charge was 50, you get four fees.
Then, they add in your deposit, mind you, was made prior to any of the charges.

Stealing?  Absolutely.  Do not bank with this institution.  You will have problems.  Unless, of course, you never go below a thousand dollars in your balance.  Not many people can do that, and here's something else. 

After their creative banking the other night, I had a balance of -29 (70 in fees)  obviously, I had the money in my account, right?  or my balance would be -99.
Then I deposit 1100 the next day.  My account shows available balance of 1071.  Then after the post the next night, get this, my account shows -49 for a 20 dollar charge, and I'm sure they will add another charge to that.  Of course, my available balance is now 1051 minus a fee.  Curious, huh?

The most discouraging thing is that they get away with this on a monumental scale.  I thought that we were getting federal regulations to keep banks from ripping us off.

I am closing my account with them.  I've banked with a Credit Union before, and none of this stuff ever happened.
