Bb&t rip-off overdraft fees & other misc charges mistreated and ripped off Scottsville Virginia

both my business and personal checking accounts are at bb&t. i started out at f&m bank before they were bought out by bb&t. I was actually employed as a head teller at f&m bank for 7 years and never treated a single customer the way bb&t allows thier customers to be treated.

i have been angry with bb&t for a while but was recebtly pushed over the edge. a few weeks ago i transferred money from the business money market account (which is kept at another bank because it has less fees) to cover my payroll. this is the same thing i do every 2 weeks and never had a problem until recently.

three days later i find out there is a negative balance in my account. after a little research i find out that the teller put a 5 day hold on my deposit! i also find out that a simple teller has the power to do this as they choose! now so many checks have bounced, including my payroll checks, we will never get back on track. i have been on the phone with bb&t trying to get my fees back but it is a never ending battle.

for every check that bounces your checking account there is a $30.00 charge. if bb&t actually pays that check there is another $32.00 charge tacked on. one bounced check can cost you $62.00 in charges. being a business we write alot of checks.

this hold put on my business checking caused my own paycheck to bounce. currently my personal checking account is also at bb&t.

so now my personal checking account is over drawn and checks are bouncing everyday and more fees are being piled on.

i am planning on changing my personal checking account because i live in a large city with different area banks but my business is located in a small town and bb&t is the only bank nearby.

the bank has just now informed me even though i have raised hell they will continue putting holds on all my transfers and is not even willing to call my other bank and verify the funds.

i would not suggest anyone to bank with bb&t. especially small business owners because bb&t basically steals your money and they are not working very hard for there customers. the tellers are very rude at this branch and lazy.
