BeatLocal.ca Scare Tactics Designed To Sell Websites Calgary AB Alberta

My client was contacted today by BeatLocal.ca and was informed as follows and she wrote to us (we are a website marketing company):

"We had a message this morning that we have been submitted to Google for a complaint because somewhere it says our website is mobile and this person complained and said is not. (Our webhost says it is and he redid the site like 5 years ago to be mobile compliant and it's always worked on all my devices, so I have no idea what this is about!) BUT, the Google message was from Ray Wayne 650-353-9232 who says we have to call back to discuss this or we will be removed from Google and Google Places. Can you help me handle this? I'm not sure to direct this to you, Justin, Mainstreet, etc. so I thought I'd send to you first."

After receiving this message, I picked up the phone and called Ray Wayne at the number above and sure enough he backed up this story, claiming that they were in alliance with Google and that Google sends them lists of companies that are not mobile compliant. This of course is pure nonsense.  They were simply trying to scare my client into buying a new website! I am personally disgusted by companies that have to lie to sell their wares. 

I told them that I was reporting their pathetic practices to Google and all of a sudden he started backtracking. 

Do not, for any reason, hire this company. They are flagrant liars. BeatLocal.ca has no authority to remove a website from Google, let alone influence Google's algorithyms. Your website will not be removed from your Google profiles for any reason unless you delete your website.
