This retailer uses their credit card as their savings card. In order to take advantage of their specials you must have a card and use it, so it must be in good standing with their credit servicer, Synchony Bank.

Several years ago I went shopping at Christmas and bought some nice gifts for my family. In February, I recieved a "Notice of change in your account" Stating that I had used too much of the credit they gave me and that I had too many late payments over the past year, they cancelled most of my credit. In other words their merchandise is only for those who already have tons of income.

Now I notice they have moved the effective due date. They were billing me as due on the 11th of the month and now they are saying on their website payments "take 2 days to process". Why not just move the due date? Why am I not given credit for the fact that I authorized payment before the due date?

I am stuck paying late fees even though I set the payment on their website more than 24 hours before the "due date" whatever that means in this context.

Also When I called them to complain I Could NOt Get A Representaive. I was treated to a history of my account and there was No Method for getting a person to speak with. This just shows that they have had so many Many complaints about their rediculous policy changes that they won't even let people talk to a person. I could have mailed them a comaplaint, but this is better because its Public,

Don't shop at Belk. You can find all the same clothes in other stores. I don't care if they are a Charlotte institution. the management have ruined the store and it deserves to close.

I was in 2 of the stores last Saturday. This close to Christmas it should have been packed...but it wasn't. See there? I'm not the only one voting with my feet.

Amazing...

It is always amazing how you had no issues with this company until they cut your credit limit.

Oh and don't try and say that you had issues with them before this, because if that is the case then you wouldn't be shopping there and wouldn't mind if they cut your limit for their merchandise.

 In other words their merchandise is only for those who already have tons of income.

- No...in other words it means that their merchanise is for people who can live within their means and meet their legal obligations by making at least the minimum due by the due date.

 "take 2 days to process".

- Perhaps you should read a bit more...directly from their Web Site.

Your Payment will be credited to your Belk Rewards Card Account on the day when you make it, but may not be displayed on your Belk Account for up to 48 hours.

What does this mean?  It means that your payment will be credited on the day you make it as long as it is before the Cut-Off time.  However, you may not see the payment posted for 2 days.  So this tells us a couple of things.  You are in fact not submitting your payment 24 hours in advance, you are submitting a payment but it is not at least the minimum due, or they are totally wrong.

Now, of course if they are totally wrong and you have proof that you are submitting your payment on their site before their cut-off time on the due date. Then I suggest you go see a lawyer and sue them.  Heck, if this is such an open and shut case I am sure you may find one who will do it for free.

- This close to Christmas?  It is 45 days away as of posting this, we aren't even in December, let alone just hiting Veteran's Day. 

Oh and no before you even try it, I do not now or have I ever worked for this company.  In fact I have never even heard of this store until now.
