In June of 2003 I was ecstatic to be purchasing the Mitsubishi Lancer sports sedan.  It was generally inexpensive, there was very good chance of low APR and I went into the Bell Road Mitsubishi with a specific payment and term plan in mind.  After the usual bartering on sale price and term of contract we settled for a monthly payment that met my conditions.  It was time for level two, meeting with the money man to set up the contract.  In this meeting I was told of a wonderful option.  A new vehicle extended service agreement, and this option would provide High Tech coverage on my vehicle for the length of the contract and be reimbursed upon completion of the contract, if no services had been rendered on the vehicle.  (I recently contacted the service corporation that facilitates this specific contract, and they said that it is the dealership that stipulates and acts on the refund of these types of contracts, and generally these stipulations are not in a written form, but rather are "Good faith" agreements between parties.)  Silly me!

If it sounds to good to be true.  I contacted Bell Road and having reached the responsible party, I explained the "Good Faith" agreement made to myself and would like a refund of the money I laid out for the extended service contract.  I was asked a question, did you pay the vehicle off early?  I responded I had paid the vehicle off on time, with no use of the service contract.   So here I sit with $1300 paid into a service, which could have been useful if there had been major repairs need, but which I had no direct need for, due to the great performance of the vehicle.  Silly me!  So if you were sold a New Vehicle Extended Service agreement through Bell Road Auto Mall and were given a good faith vow of refund of this agreement a class action lawsuit may be the best course of action.  I'm just a silly shmuck who had faith in the word of a dealership, silly silly me!
