 Our 94 year-old neighbor purchased a specific type of hearing aid from family owned Krone Hearing Center in 2012. Just like the other individual who has lodged a complaint against this company, they took $3,500 from her. She heard nothing from them for months afterwards so called only to be told they had forgotten to place the order.  After several more months of waiting, they supplied her with a cheap model of another company instead of what she had ordered. She refused to accept the bait-and-switch and demanded a full refund.  Eventually, they refunded $1,500 instead of the $3,500 she had paid.  Month later, when she again came into the business office, they gave her a check for $200 and said they did not have anymore money to give her.  Yesterday, my husband accompanied her to this place of business and politely but firmly demanded the rest of the money they owe this elderly senior which is now $1,800.  They promised to have the money today.  This morning, the male owner, nervously handed over a sealed envelope which, when opened, contained a check for $1,000 that was post-dated for more than a week later.  When my husband balked, the owner stated that they did not have the funds and that they were moving to a new store in two weeks. This company has served the massive senior community of Laguna Woods since 1965.  God knows how many times they have used this fraudulent scheme to rip off elderly seniors who cannot adequately remedy the problem themselves.  This needs to be investigated and stopped immediately!

Absolutely Incorrect Information


Hello, my name is Elizabeth A. Krone.  I am the owner of Krone Hearing Aid CenterThis is absolutely incorrect information.  We have been helping the hard of hearing since 1965, for 50 years now.  If we did not do the job right for our patients, we would not still be in business.  I am appauled at this erroneous report.

First , we fit this patient on 04/13/06 with Bi-N Siemens Opens for a complete price of $2800.00.  This price included everything- warranty, batteries, free service, free programming, batteries, ect... This was an exceptional price.  She was very appreciative and very happy with everything.

Six years later, April 9, 2012 she decided to order new hearing aids.  The national average for a person ordering new hearing aids is 4.9 years.  She had her first set for 6 years and was very happy.  So we ordered her a new set of Starkey CIC's.  Starkey is the number one hearing aid manufacture in the world- top of the line.  Also, we have never forgot to place an order for a patient.  That is an absolute inaccurate statement. 

After working together with her for a couple of months she decided the Starkey custom CIC's were not for her.  So we returned those for credit.  There was not months of waiting and there was no ordering of a cheap model from another company.  Absolutely erroneous information from someone who knows nothing about the facts of what took place- a neighbor.  There was no bait-and-switch.  We fit her with top of the line Starkey Hearing Aids.

She was looking for better hearing after wearing the same product for 6 six years so we ordered Bi-N Starkey RIC's for her.  Top of the line Starkey's.  The battery size of the new hearing aids was smaller than what she had and decided that she was doing just fine with her present 6 year old hearing aids that we fit her with.  So we returned those for credit also. 

Our bookeeper comes in once a month and she received a full refund at that time.  I am appauled at the inaccurate accusations from someone who knows nothing about us or our company.  We have been helping people for 50 years now and would not still be here if we were not the best at what we do and are honest. 

Our patient, to this day still appreciates us and our service.  She has never been unhappy with us or her hearing aids.  So the person who wrote this needs to get their facts straight.  Absolutely an erroneous report.  We have never experienced this before from anyone.  We take pride in what we do for our patients and do the best for them.  When a patient returns their hearing aids for whatever reason they receive a full refund within a month.

We are more than happy to provide upon request serial numbers of the Starkey instruments we fit her with and the dates of factual information.
