Once again Best Buy is up to its old tricks advertising products that they do not have. This time is is the IPAD advertised in the Sunday St Pete Times. I waited and was 2nd in line and when I got in the manager told me that that had NONE. Not 1 IPAD of any configuration available in the whole store.
Where is the Florida Attorney General??? FALSE ADVERTISING !!!!

#3 Consumer Suggestion
Demand greater than Supply

Print ads are made well in advance of the week the items are advertised.
There were many national news accounts of how Apple has a strict control of the distribution of the IPAD2. Based on volume and geography, BBY stores would have received different quantities.
In this instance, no AG is going to help you. The demand for the product is much greater than the supply. Customers are calling other retailers, as well, every day to see if more IPADS were shipped. Join the club.

Raincheck?

I agree with the above poster. It could have been a delayed shipment or other issue that was outside of the store's control. Printed ads must be submitted and approved well in advance of the actual run-date so it's quite possible that something happened between the date they placed the ad and the day it ran. I highly doubt the employees placed a fake ad because they thought it would be fun to have a bunch of irate customers come in all day to complain.
A simple solution would have been to ask the manager for a raincheck for the item. This way you would get the item, at the price advertised, without having to wait in line. They would just call you when it was in and you could pick it up at your convenience. If you didn't think to ask for this, too bad. I'm sure others waiting in line did and most likely have their new IPads already.

Whats your point?

Maybe the store didn't get any in that day. I'm sure it was out of their control, it's not like they thought this would be a funny joke.
Sometimes sale items aren't available. Is this your first time shopping?
