BestTel Wayne Grau This company fails to pay the subcontractors that they hire Santa Ana, California

Wayne Grau of BestTel contacted my company to provide labor to install and program telecom equipment at one of his customer's offices back in August of 2009. We accepted the job and requested that we get paid upon completion of the work, to which Wayne agreed. When I arrived onsite, on 8/28/2009, I met with Mr. Grau for the 1st time and after going over the scope of work and reminding him that we were to recieve payment upon completion he said he did not have a check and requested that we meet the following week so that he could give me a check. This is when I should have left but I did not want to leave the end customer without phone service as this is what would have happened if I did.

I completed the job, emailed the invoice and sent a copy of the invoice in the mail to Wayne. I could not meet with him the following week and he seemed to be a decent guy so I didn't push for immediate payment. Since then I have called repeatedly and he does not answer my calls or return my calls when I've left messages. On one occasion, he promised to "personally" send a partial payment check in the mail. That check was never received.

We are not the first company he has failed to pay, we did another job for Best Tel as a 3rd party subcontractor. As it turns out; the company that Wayne hired, hired us and they never got paid. However, they did pay us even though they never got paid.

If you are contacted by Best Tel, I would think twice about doing any business with them. We have been in contact with the end customer and they have said that Wayne still has not completed everything he had promised them.
