Better Business Bureau Of Central Florida Don't rely on the BBB for an honest rating of a member company. Rip-off! Altamonte Springs Florida

Like many others, I was under the misconception that the BBB would give an honest response to any consumer inquiry as to a company's rating or existing unresolved complaints. Not necessarily so. Additionally, I do believe a company's Unsatisfactory rating can be changed to Satisfactory upon the company becoming a member of the BBB.

Earlier this year, we had an ownership issue with a timeshare resort, Westgate Lakes, in Orlando. Still do, in fact. When I checked the BBB of Central Florida's web site on 3/18, Westgate Lakes was rated Unsatisfactory due to unresolved complaint(s). Westgate has since joined the BBB and (surprise!) is now rated Satisfactory. The BBB representative admitted that yes, there are numerous complaints against Westgate but if they remain unresolved, Westgate would again be rated Unsatisfactory.

I have seen several sites on the Internet with complaints against Westgate that span months - even years and Westgate remained unresponsive or refused to make things right. Several complaintants specifically indicated they would be contacting the BBB. I find the BBB of Central Florida's Satisfactory rating of Westgate Lakes deceptive and questionable.
