I can attest to the fact that the Betterhelp counselling service is a scam - and I am not the "one and the same person" who Betterhelp said on this site had posted other negative reviews about unauthorised charging. I am based in Sydney Australia and signed up to use a Betterhelp counsellor via Internet for the first time on 28 November on the understanding that the first week was free of charge and charges of $45 would apply after the first week. From 28 November 2015 to 2.12.15 (five days) I exchanged several emails with a Betterhelp counsellor assigned to me. I did not use the Betterhelp service after this date. But on 5 December 2015 I was charged $246.96 by Betterhelp on my credit card. I should not have been charged at all, let alone incur a five week fee. When I contacted Betterhelp via email and their website to reverse this charge, I received no response. This service is a scam.
