You advertised a 7015 at 49 pounds, measuring 16 inches by 18 inches by 22 inches, with a rating of 661 Ah for a one hundred hour test. You shipped cells (actually 40 cells), claiming they were the equivalent of a 7015 that each weigh 42 pounds, measure 5.25 inches by 9.25 inches by 18 inches with a nominal rating of 500 Ah. IF these substitute batteries (TN500's) are the equivalent of the 7015 it is highly unlikely.. You have not offered to exchange the TN500's for TN600's, send ten more TN500's to compensate us for the shortage, or refund the overcharge (yet to be determined but in excess of $2500). Mrs. XXXXX and I have patiently explained our position, objections, and are still listening for some form of compromise on your/BEUTILITIYFREE's part. We paid over $9000 in cash initially and had to wait for six months before the final payment was paid (also in advance) for a total of $15120, plus a late delivery. All this was done per your/BEUTILITYFREE contract. Your prompt attention is requested to correct the situation.

No satisfaction or hint of reconciliation as of 12MAY09

Lied to my face....

AUTHOR: info@beutilityfree.com - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 30, 2012

I have tried posting twice now and do not get posted.

The last two posts I thought had to do with a past employee by the name of Paul Crites.

I was dead wrong. This last post entitled  ' JOHN DA"NGLEO LIE DTO MY FACE" was s written none other than Brandon Williams and NOT Paul Crites.

Brandon William's will do anything to promote his business that competes with our business. Brandon was NEVER a sales manager for our company as he claims. He was an independent sales representative that worked for us about two months before he decided to go and start his own. He cleverly used my problems with the law to make me look bad to only benefit himself.

Let see if this gets posted....

Lied to my face....

POSTED: Friday, March 30, 2012

This post is interesting because the person did not follow the rules of a post here. You are suppose to put a name to any post here. Obviously and one reading the previous post has no idea who wrote it., but I do.

I believe the person who wrote this was our last independent sales rep and also worked for us in the field.
His name was Paul Crites.

We had to let him go because he had family, financial and metal issues all of which where effecting his attitude and performance with our company. So we had to end our relationship with him. And of course any relationship that ends on a sour note the employee will almost always bad mouth the employer to try and "get even". Thus his post. Sad but true.

I never lied to his face, but he will tell you otherwise. Anything that Paul bought up about past customers or other issues I told him our company's side of the issue. He can chose to not believe our side or he can not. He chose not to believe the truth and NO ONE can do anything about that.

We have been in business for a very long time and any business that stays in business always has a few problems along the way. Our business is no different. Look at Apple computer. Even they have messed up a few times and they try and make it right, but you cannot please 100% of the people ALL THE TIME even after you try and make it right.

john D'Angelo - not sure why they say not to sign your name. How else do we know who is writing these "reports"?

John D'Angelo lied to my face

AUTHOR: Buf - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, October 10, 2011

As a contractor (and the manager of a nation-wide sales territory) for this company, I began to notice that there were myriad reports of unhappy customers, clients who feel they had been ripped off, and contractors who were not paid.

While defending himself against multiple allegations, John looked me in the face and said, "There is another guy out there with a company that sounds a lot like mine [UtilityFree].  If you ever run across anything else like that, don't worry, that's not me."

Well, as it turned out, that was a bold face lie.  John will work hard to cover one lie with another lie.

I am all for supporting institutionalized rehabilitation, but this is just sad...

Proceed with extreme caution when dealing with this company.

Addressing customers original post allegations

AUTHOR: info@beutilityfree.com - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 27, 2011

Wednesday, July 27, 2011 21:43

I thought I had addressed our customers concerns a while back and I now realize that it was NEVER posted on this web site so I am going to address his concerns once again. I do not spend a lot of time on this web site but am aware of it.

First this customer ordered a 500 AH cells (part # 7015) and NOT 600 Ah cells. We had been selling our cells with the same measurements for almost 10 years and unbeknownst to us the manufacture changed the cell sizes on us but NOT THE BATTERY CAPACITY. One can manufacture a cell a little smaller or bigger and still have the same Ah battery capacity. If that does happen the cell can also weight a little bit more or a little be less then the cell that was made before. So our literature did not match the new cell sizes!

I explained to the customer that the cell he got, no matter what the measurements or weight was the AH cell he ordered.

He claims that his cells, because they weighed less than the advertised weight and the advertised cell dimensions, that the AH capacity was less. What happened was simply a mistake on our battery literature and it was an honest mistake. So what he got is exactly what he paid for. No more no less. I said to him that if he actually put them in service and TESTED then according to accepted battery testing principles that if they did not test out to the manufactures specification (500 Ah at a C/5 rate)  we he could return them and we would resell them for him as used cells.

When he wrote this complaint he had not even placed the cells in service!  As a result he was complaining about a non issue in our eyes. And we have not heard anything from him since we posted this back in May 2009, more than 2 years ago!

Normally our delivery time is 60- 90 days from date of deposit. However, in some cases things don't always go that way. What happens sometimes is that customs will randomly pull shipments for inspection and sometimes or our supplier gets an order from the chinese government and our order get set aside. I believe this is what happened with his order and that is why the order took that long to arrive. The delay was NEVER intentional, but a victim of the import world rules and regulation and the Chinese government rules.

The ordering procedure is on our web site nickel iron page (http://www.beutilityfree.com/Electric/Ni-Fe) page and is there for anyone who orders our cells. Nothing is hidden from our customer. This customer knew full well the 65% down payment terms and he also knew that the balance had to be paid for before the cells left China too. No hidden charges or surprises.

We have been importing these cells SINCE 1995 and have an excellent track record for delivery within our time frame and have MANY satisfied customers since 1995.

Beware of Brandon Williams!

AUTHOR: info@beutilityfree.com - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 27, 2011

Brandon Williams is both he  a LIER and  a THEIF.

A LIER because he makes untrue statements that make him look "good".

Brandon williams worked for our company as an INDEPENDENT sales rep and has represented our company in a RIP OFF REPORT POST as a "sales manager. He states: "As the new sales manager with BeUtilityFree". He NEVER was a sale manger for our company. What a lier!

If you look at his Link-in web page he states yet ANOTHER lie:

He states the following:

"Solar, Thermal, Wind, On-Grid and Off-Grid System Designerat Be Utility Free"

NOT TRUE! HE NEVER designed such systems. HE SOLD solar , wind and solar thermal systems but he NEVER designed them. HE was a real novice and had a very rudimentary level of knowledge when it came to renewable energy but when you talk to him he seems to know EVERYTHING about renewable energy systems. HE is a "want to be"

How many other lies are out there? One will never know!

He posted this issue about my jail sentence so that he could profit from sealing ideas that we shared with him on our marketing plans for future marketing of our nickel iron battery divsion.

He resigned as an independent sales rep on December 29, 2010 and he registered his web site selling nickel iron batteries December 24, 2010. The day he quit he made it all about my jail sentence, when as is his usual style of deceit and lying, his real motive was to make us thing we did something wrong so that he could freely pursue his own business.

He is both unethical and should NOT be trusted as a business person. by ANYONE!

Please find a PDF copy of his contract with BeUtilityFree, Inc. as PRROF that he was NOT a sales manager nor a PV designer as he claims.

#3 UPDATE EX-employee responds

John D'Angelo, owner and president of Utility Free President Sentenced to Jail for CPSC Violations Inc.,

AUTHOR: BUF Manager - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 29, 2010

Company President Sentenced to Jail for CPSC Violations

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced today that John D'Angelo, owner and president of Utility Free Inc., a Colorado-based distributor of alternative energy products, was sentenced to nearly two years in jail for violating two laws enforced by CPSC. Mr. D'Angelo pled guilty to 15 counts of improperly shipping hazardous substances, including a highly corrosive, clear electrolyte solution. In December 1993, 15-year-old Justin Pulliam mistook the solution for water because Mr. D'Angelo had shipped it in a reused plastic one-gallon milk container that lacked appropriate warnings. The teenager drank it and died two weeks later from severe internal injuries.

The Federal Hazardous Substances Act prohibits the shipment of hazardous substances in reused food containers and without proper warning labels that contain safety information. The Poison Prevention Packaging Act requires that certain chemicals be marketed in child-resistant packaging. Mr. D'Angelo violated both laws. His sentence is the longest jail time ever imposed for violations of laws enforced by CPSC.

CPSC Chairman Ann Brown said, "These important federal laws are intended to prevent exactly the kind of tragedy that killed Justin. We will vigorously pursue everyone who flouts our laws and puts consumers at risk." Chairman Brown also noted that the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment first brought Mr. D'Angelo's violations to CPSC's attention. "This was a perfect example of how state and federal authorities working together can protect the public," she said.

Mr. D'Angelo also shipped improperly labeled potassium hydroxide and lithium hydroxide in solid form. In addition, he kept selling the potassium hydroxide in non-child- resistant containers (plastic bags with twist-tie or resealable plastic bags), even after CPSC told him that such sales violated federal law.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado sentenced Mr. D'Angelo to 700 days in jail (approximately 23 months), to be followed by one year of supervised release, in the case of U.S. v. Utility Free Inc. and John D'Angelo (No. 97-CR-312).

BBB says they will turn it over to Atty General

AUTHOR: Chump - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 12, 2010

But there will be no feedback from the Attorney General of Colorado. Haven't heard anymore as of January 2010. ChangHong batteries are good company but by dealing with BeUtilityFree you will pay 20% more than what you thought. Also, the Chinese battery syndicate (Seiden, and others) felt that BeUtilityFree had not charged me enough for the cells! So they would not get involved with my complaint. Bear in mind that quality matters can change rapidly in China :-)
