BFS Services (ROC Transport Inc) It is easier to ship something from China to LA than from LA to Detroit. Coppell Texas

The long and short of it is this. We had some goods shipped from China (1 pallet), the goods arrived in Los Angeles, our customs broker brought the goods through customs and made them available to be picked up; we hired BFS Services (ROC Transport) to pick up our merchandise and ship it to Michigan. We provided them with the appropriate paperwork and 3 free days left before storage/demmurage fees began to accrue. Their trucker failed to pick up the item 3 times and then finally told us that the item was picked up and on it's way to Michigan. They even provided a tracking number so we could check on the progress of the delivery. We noticed the the shipment details seemed a little off from what our ocean freight paperwork showed. Patrice Conner, at ROC Transport, said that this was ours and we should be expecting it soon. We watched for the next 3 weeks as the shipment made its way across the country. We were expecting the delivery soon as it made it's way from Indianapolis but instead it was delivered to a company in Cincinatti. We called and ROC Transport said that they made a mistake and they gave us the wrong tracking number. As it turns out, not only did they give us the wrong tracking number but they never picked up our goods from the customs warehouse...they were still sitting in Los Angeles. Patrice Conner, our customer service contact, then began to weave a web of lies to try and keep herself from getting in trouble, I presume. We engaged with Eric Sandy, who is supposed to be a manager of some sort. He agreed that they made a mistake and said that he would make sure our shipment was taken care of. When we asked him who should be responsible for the storage fees he said that we should take care of them! I tried to make it clear that we had done everything right and he agreed but then said that the owner is tough and usually says NO to people that run into these situations. I asked him to please talk with the owner so that we could resolve the issue. We were just asking to have them handle the storage fees from the date that they told us they picked it up and we would still pay all the other shipping fees as agreed. By the way the storage fees were less than $100. After consulting with the owner he said "just like I thought the owner said NO". I felt that this was contradictory to their website that states "We personally guarantee that we will do everything within our power to see that you are satisfied". At this point fees continue to be applied to our shipment and ROC Transport refuses to assist us and during our last call Eric Sandy hung up and said find someone else. So in summary, the only mistake that we made was choosing ROC Transport to move our goods. Be very careful if you choose to do business with them as the owner does not care about his customers. Who would of thought that it would be easier to move goods from China to Los Angeles than from Los Angeles to Detroit.
