BGE home installed a new hot water heater in my home a year ago.

And did a so-so install job.

My main complaint is they automatcially enrolled  me into a maintenace plan iI was not informed of nor did I ask for and do not want.

I keep getting "Past Due"  notices that I am delinquent in payments for the maintnce plan

I have called 4 time s (4) to say that i never ordered nor do i want a maintenace plan from them

Each time i call i am informed that the issues has been resolved and that its all taken care of and i will no longer receive collection notices.

Well its benn over 6 months and the notices still keep coming and and elderly person as myself could be fooled by this notice that my credit is going to be negativly affected is i dont pay

This is  harrsaement and poor business pracices.

Update regarding BGE and Wrongfull Billing

As of January 29, a representative was sent to our home on a Friday, at 2pm in the afternoon to cut it off after the snow storm. Because in the St of MD you are only allowed to resolved by 3pm to have your electric turned back on. I was purposely left with little or no time to resolve anything and at work. I called MPSC to follow up regarding my appeal written after their last response to see what was their final decision, amount owed or was any amount credited. So I can make an accurate payment. Appealed was filed after November 20, 2015 within the ten day time frame and their response was, "On November 20, 2015 your case was closed. We do not have an appeal in this office. I replied, my electric was cut off an appeal was faxed to you along with all documentation and their response was I'm sorry we have no record of that. I requested can we just have until Monday or Tuesday to get this resolved before its cut off. Just stop the cut off till Monday, I am on a breathing maching. I have a copy of the appeal fax sent but cannot handle anything within 1 hour and over the weekend it would be impossible to come up with any large amount. I was informed we cannot file anymore complaints with St of Md Public Service Commissioners Office. Our bill is up to $4000.00 with no credits ever applied in the 11 years I have been being ripped off. No accurate bills, no accurate amounts, a lot of back and fourth, thousands of dollars paid to them over the years, waste of time, multitude of complaints, documents and verification ignored by both BGE and MPSC. Needless, to say 410-209-1514 or 410-234-7128 I was told was Administrative Office for BGE also does not recall conversations or documentation submitted to them either regarding any of this. Representatives either don't work there anymore, have been terminated, and used a different name. I feel sorry for others who are going through wrongful billing practices. Will keep you posted...

Bogus Billing is an understatement.

Bogus billing here is also a picture of their billing.. They have been over billing us for more than 11 years. We have made numerous complaints to BGE and State of Maryland Public Service Commissioner's Office. We have paid in the thousands over the years and received absolutely no credit from BGE and MPSC has justified every last one of their responses as exceptable while we submit proof of their wrongful billing. We even received numerous bills and cut off notices with different amount for the same exact month.

agree with you. There are several who are also experiencing the same and similar things with bogus billing. My family and I have been going back with BGE from 6/2002 to present since purchase of our single family home regarding being billed incorrectly. First issue, before I purchased our single family home on 6/2002 it used to be a two-apartment duplex with a total of 12+ people living in the home. BGE kept four meters on the back of our house, billed and estimated our usage as a two family apartment duplex home instead of a single family home for 11 years before they actually removed the two additional meters. During this time, numerous complaints were put into both BGE and The State of Maryland Public Service Commissioner’s Office, Baltimore, MD. There has been no resolve and absolutely no credit(s) made to our account up to date January 29, 2016 by BGE. BGE assumed absolutely no responsibility and have not been made to either by our MPSC. BGE always responded our bills were too high because our doors and windows needed to be repaired and replaced, light bulbs need to be changed to energy savers and power strips needed to be put in place and turn off. I took out a $7,000-$8,000.00 loan and got the windows and doors replaced. Everything was done and I still saw no decrease in our bills. From March 2007-2009 requested a decrease and investigation with State of MD PSC office, this office justified it and a increase was always issued. After numerous complaints to Public Service Commissioners Office of MD, On December 12, 2011 MPSC responded and actually included a response from BGE Customer Accts. Specialist which concluded and actually justified BGE horrendous billings amounts which state on this letter sent by MPSC on Jan 2011 to February 2011 Monthly Budget Billing amount was $258.00, Total Budget Amount Billed $516.00 and our Actual Usage $860.78, March 2011 to May 2011 Budget Billing Amount $269.00, Total Budget Amount Billed is $807.00, Actual usage was $790.99, June 2011 to August 2011 Budget billing amount $269.00, Total Budget Amt. Billed $807.00, Actual usage $703.73, September 2011 to October 2011 Monthly budget billing Amt. $283.00, Total Amount Billed $566.00, Actual Usage $350.00. We continue to pay it, and in addition BGE also received several payments from both MEAP and EUSP over the years and no credits were ever given by BGE and we never received absolutely any assistant from MPSC in the many complaints filed with them. Several complaints went in and MPSC which this office states they now have no record of them and also stated BGE has since fired the representative who collaborated with and responded to MPSC (and MPSC upheld BGE’s response in a letter on their own letterhead to me) regarding our complaint. Within the last 4 years BGE has tagged on an additional $1,000. dollars extra with each complaint filed to MPSC. BGE also abruptly changed our account number and another $1,000.00 was tagged on and this was also reported to MPSC and Public Service Commission Executive Offices along with verification faxed to them regarding this long ordeal and nothing was addressed. No credits were issued. My wife was laughed at, ridiculed, and humiliated by both offices and never credited a dime for any wrongful billing. We suffered having our electric constantly cut off consistently. With cut off notices, I watched one amount on my bill with BGE go from $2,000.00 to $2,525.00 to $3,000.00 to $3,071.91 in one conversation and when we sent MPSC record of the actual two different cut off notices for the same exact month they absolutely did nothing and have done nothing even after all official documentation and verification of everything was submitted into their office. The back and fourth received from both BGE and MPSC became a game one would play with each call. I suffered a severe heart attack, my wife fell ill and we were both completely stressed out. We find our bill with BGE to be the highest bill from all of our bills. After hours, days, months and years of dispute we would receive no credits and no assistant from MPSC. The stress became life threatening I borrowed a loan to pay BGE and on March 26, 2014 MPSC stated they could not take or except a large amount to be paid to them. The amounts needed to be broken up as follow and the following amounts were all paid to BGE on the same day, $301.96, $372.00, $601.97, $601.98, $601.99, $602.00 totaling $3,081.90 and after a call to confirm payments we were told we were again $70.00 short and we paid that to get off budget billing. After $70.00 was paid we were again hit with another $1,000.00 and told we would still have to remain on budget billing for a year because we received MEAP and EUSP assistant. Again MPSC did absolutely nothing to correct the matter and no credits issued. Remember I stated earlier I spent $7,000.00 to replace all windows and doors. On November 20, 2015 MPSC responded in a letter, “You also stated you have paid over $7,000.00 over the past 10 months.” BGE stated, we have the right to charge you whatever amount we want,” “if we decide we want a deposit we request that too.” This is what I endured even after filing a multitude of complaints with MPSC regarding BGE. MPSC always reads the complaints and never addresses the actual problem and carefully listed in detail and even after tons of verification is provided to them. On January 29, 2016 a representative came out to our home and asked if we knew of a cut off notice. I replied no, because we did not our case was last in MDPSC and we were awaiting their final response after an appeal. Requested to see my breathing equipment for my heart condition in my home and he was let in. He was asked can you please give me until Monday or Tuesday of next week with this snow storm to come up or borrow another $4,000.00 dollars they requested be paid to keep our electric on and BGE would not do it and cut it off anyway. We just don’t know what was going on with this account. Even after BGE rep was asked to can I speak to BGE representative, he replied no, “her response was your wife is the one sick” isn’t she and cut it off anyway. We do not have you listed. However, military medical documentation was submitted. For years, we actually believed MDPSC had our better interest at heart and with all documentation and verification were going to help us resolve these issues where we couldn’t help ourselves. For an office to be put in place to serve its community and residents as I have served my country the last 30 years and literally be witness to BGE assume no responsibility for their wrongful actions and was not mandated to by MDPSC to either. Disappointedly, at times it almost seem like BGE and MPSC were working for one another instead of resolving the issue. Their billing is a joke and BGE finds humor in what they are doing.
