Paid cash for our first Blazer Bass Boat from these so called "Christians," with Kevin Thompson stating that it was "tournament ready," "shouldn't have any problems" and "you just bought a nice boat".  Keven also said that the boat was "his" and that he ahd "been out on the water with it and it worked just fine."

We properly registered and titled the boat and motor, which took a few days thereafter. That weekend we took it out on Lake Ray Roberts.

1. It almost sunk - took in water very quickly--all the way up to the forward storage areas, past the helm--about half an hour after launching. We were in 60 feet of water when this happened. Tournament ready? It wasn't even launch ready. The entire back end was almost completely submerged

2. Limping back into shore, with hundreds of gallons of water and the back deck completely submerged, the motor continuously stalled and wouldn't start so we ended up having to push it onto trailer by hand.

Took it to a 1st mechanic that following Monday and then later to another mechanic for a second opinion.

Both mechanics have agreed after looking it over that:

*Carburetors had to be cleaned (no kit needed on this particular year make and model)

*Seals on lower unit were bad and had to be replaced - water came out after pulling the plug on it with me standing there.

*Why was it taking on water? Because stern side transom and the hull had separated from the deck, which was hidden by the rubber trim about 4 to 6" ft in length and about 1/8 to 1/4 wide. No wonder we took on water so quickly.  Tournament ready?  The boat wasn't even water ready!!

After having the carbs, lower unit seal and leak fixed, the first mechanic again took it out on the water where it would not go over 2500 rpms. After inspecting the electrical, he said it was a mess and couldn't figure out why so many wires were cut, what they led to and why the oil alarm was flashing but not sounding. He also stated that reed valve would need to be replaced. Previous owner had disengaged the auto oil/gas mix but mechanic was unsure about why such an electrical mess.

$1200 into this story, we decided to take it to another mechanic for a second opinion. He looked at the engine and said the same thing - many parts of different engines to which he referred to as a "frankenstein motor". Reed valve indeed needed to be replaced as the V6 motor was technically running as a V5. Electrical was a mess and he had no clue why previous owners would cut so many wires. The spot welds were also of concern as to the remaining life of the motor and told us that he could fix the problem, but didn't know how long the motor would run until it blew. Why? Because he wouldn't know unless he ripped apart the whole thing to see. He too wondered why the motor had been "messed with" in such a way that wasn't necessary. He also stated that "whoever did all this sure didn't have a clue on what they were doing". After taking it on the lake for a test run, it indeed never ran over 2500 rpms He is now in the stages of fixing what he can (valve) to get it running and figure out the electrical rpm/ignition problems and new fuel line. Other problems we found out?

Hot foot was not connected properly
Steering column almost falling out of helm
Port light not functional
Forward fish finder connection completely severed

I informed Kevin Thompson of all this and he not only blamed me for the problems "what did you do to the boat" or "I didn't force you to buy it" or "did you really think I was going to give your money back", but was totally unwilling to TRY on making this right. I have provided names and numbers to both mechanics and he won't call even call them. No attempts whatsoever to help remedy. $1200 and over one month from purchase and still no water-ready boat!

Jeff and Kevin Thompson are nothing but junk brokers who are not licensed to sell even a trailer. All their ads on CL state the same thing: "runs good" or "in excellent condition" or "runs as it should". So-called "Christians" who lied then have zero remorse on what's happened let alone fixing this. Our 17 year old at home said it perfectly about these so-called Christians: "Would Christ f** you over like these guys"?? Pretty right on.

Fair warning to buyers - DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE SCAMMER THIEVES - they post ads in Auto Parts, Heavy Equipment, Cars & Trucks, ATV's, RV's and Business/Commercial to name a few. Kevin and Jeff Thompson of Big Tex Industrial on Alexander Rd in Duncanville or anything coming back to the numbers 214-769-7286 or 214-766-2112 is to BE AVOIDED

We are reporting them to DMV for selling as a dealer without a license and will follow with legal action for mispresenting the boat.  In addition, we are posting our experience on social media so others don't fall into the same trap.

AVOID KEVIN AND JEFF THOMPSON AND BIG TEX INDUSTRIAL out of Duncanville!!!
