Biggs Cardosa Associates Rips off Their Employees and Cheats them Out of Prevailing wages! San Jose California

I worked for this firm since May 2000 and was cheated out of thousands of dollars of wages due me as well as some of my coworkers. Biggs Cardosa hides behind the laws that enforce the labor code and refuses to make good on their commitments to all public works contracts and has lied to their employees. They have not complied with my requests to be paid what I am owed on ALL prevailing wage projects I worked on under their employ. Even though the contracts they have signed with the various jurisdictions require their compliance with the law.

Biggs Cardosa operates a department of special inspectors that are suppose to enforce the California Building Code per CBC section 1701 and do not provide a safety program or proper training for those who work in the field. Never in the almost 5 years I worked for these crooks was a safety meeting conducted or was I properly trained to operate equipment or was I trained in fall protection. When Mark Cardosa was asked about this several times he evaded responsibility and at one time stated that he did not think he was responsible for my safety on the job. He later stated that they were looking into the matter always siting how costly it was while putting my safety and the safety of others at risk continuing to work in the field without the required safety meetings every ten days by law.

I noticed as a trained observer since 1988 and being employed in the construction trades for over thirty years that Biggs Cardosa had no clue as to the exact requirements and procedures for performing special inspections per the building code . However I did notice that they signed off on numerous projects because they could in my opinion. I've been a certified special inspector for over 17 years and worked for numerous testing agencies that comply with the American Society for Testing and Materials. Biggs Cardosa does not enforce material identification, welding procedure confirmation by experienced inspectors , or owns or uses cure boxes. A audit of their longest working inspector should prove to be amusing to those who read his reports. I observed complete incompetence as high up as the owners of this company as well as engineers who were observed going way outside the guidelines on numerous occasions.When their department manager was asked for a volt meter to check procedures prior to a scheduled inspection he didn't know what that was. I had to purchase one for them even though for the past 15 years prior and maybe more Biggs Cardosa was certifying welds without knowledgeable employees or proper equipment.

It is my opinion that Biggs Cardosa is only intersted in money and rarely provides their clients a quality product. I believe that the public should be aware of these people and their refusal to operate a safe place for their inspectors to work.

I am in the process of seeking damages for lost wages as well as compensation for back wages on ALL prevailing wage projects I worked on for Biggs Cardosa Associates through various Foundations and Agencies who are willing to help me recover the lost wages I have been cheated out of by this firm. There are others who were cheated by Biggs Cardosa.I would not suggest using unlawful companies like this for any work in the future. Biggs Cardosa Associates does not provide for a living wage or a safe work place for their inspectors. Power to the people!
