Sold a car stating with air condition & after 90 days still unable to register my car with the state: See below for story

I purchased a 2006 Pontiac Solstice from Bill Heard, before driving the 200 + miles to make this purchased I had confirmed on 3 seperate occasions that the car had air condition. I have witnesses to all 3 occasions that i inquired that the car had air condition and that I would not be interested in it if it did not.

The day I purchased the car it was a cold day, when I turned it on someone had already had the knob turned to what looked like cold & had the fan up to full blast. When I felt this I was pleased, it felt very cold.

Two weeks later when I was out of town & it was hot, I tried the air nothing would come out except hot air, I pulled out the manuel thinking I was doing something wrong. I found out the car dod not come with air, what I felt on the day I purchased was just the outside air.

I have an e-mail from the sales rep aplogizing & confirming I had inquired on the air. He has since denied I ever asked, has called me a liar, & hung upon me.

I tried working with them, first to get them to install the air, they wouldn't consider this option, then with a settlement. I was willing to take less than what it would cost to get the air in the car, $6,000.00 from another Ponatic Dealer, just to get this out of the way since I have not been in good health, but there is another issue.

It has now been 91 days since I purchased the car and I still can not register the car and get my tags. So I am paying a car payment for a car I can not legally drive, except going monthly to the DMV for temp. tags.

I have witnesses with the local Ponatic Dealer who has tried helping me with all of the above issues, the DMV reps, who have also can be witness to my diligence in pursuit of being legal.

I have filed a formal compalint with the GA Automobile Dealer Association, but to date I have not received a reponse.

If anyone has any information on what other steps I can take, PLEASE advise.

Factory air is almost universal these days because most people want it and it is cheaper for the manufacturers to make common options standard equipment.

B/t/w you could look under the hood for the air conditioning compressor & evaporator, plus also look for the condensor in front of the radiator. THere things are NOT small.

But next time before you visit a dealer & plunk your money down, I bet you will spend quality time reading Consumer Reports- won't you?

The registration problem does not make sense. The certificate of origin is presented to MVD along with documentation of any outstanding loan, and a title is issued to the appropriate party and the reg is issued to you. 30 days max. You give no details, but the registration delay makes no sense.

Unless there is a basic problem with the car- such as it is a flood-salvaged car with a salvage title or no CoO, and so the state would not register the car. The DMV people should tell you what the real problem is.
