I went to Bill Heard off of an add that was on the radio. They were offering that if you were upside down in your car up to $10,000.00 they would pay it off and give you a monetery amount apprx. $1,500.00,

I don't remember the exact amount, but when I got there it was a totally different story. The first salesman I spoke with did not seem to know much about anything, so I thanked him for his time and proceeded to leave.

As I was walking to my car I ran into another salesman who proceeded to tell me that he was a manager and his name was Ronnie Chesser.

He said won't you let me see if I can help you. So I went with him and let him run my credit report and he said that I would need some money down or a co-signer and I said fine I will just wait until that is possible.

So I proceeded to leave again and he asked if I would let him take a look at the car I had an see what his appraiser would say and give me a quote, so he asked me to drive over to the other side of the dealership.

As I wanted in my car he motioned to me to come in. I went in and he said I took your paperwork to some veterans and they believe that we can work out a deal for you.

So he started the paperwork and we began to look at some cars, I told him I was only interested in an SUV, so he took me to a 2006 Chev Trailblazer and I really liked that one.

So we went back inside and began the paperwork on that SUV, as he proceeded to take the paperwork back and forward to the tower.

He then came back and said that vehicle would not work and that they would be losing money, about $2,000.00, so he said I am going to show you something I know your going to love and we went to a 2003 Chev Tahoe, which was not a SUV I was interested in at all, but he said that we could do the paperwork for the

Tahoe, but he had some more coming in the following week and we could see if one of those would work instead, but to go ahead with the Tahoe for now.

I gave him the keys to my car which is a 2002 Chrysler Sebring, he told me that I could leave my items in the car and take a few things out that I needed now, because it was late and they were closing and it was cold out, he told me that my things would be safe in the car and that he was locking it behind the gate and no one would have access to it and my things would be safe.

So this was a Friday night and I went home with the Tahoe and was not satisfied with it, but he told me that I could get something next week.

The next week came which was Thanksgiving week, I called him on Monday to find out what was going, he said they were working on my deal and I called during that week and he said again they are working on your deal and to just enjoy driving the Tahoe and he would give me a call on Monday the next week.

Which he did and said we could not out the Tahoe, but we do have an approval so come in today and we can look at some more SUVs that have come in and I said ok, then he called me back and said can you come on Tuesday instead because I will have a better selection for and I said I had something planned.

But I would take off work early to come in and I also asked him if they were trying to sell my car because I wanted to make sure they we were going to have a deal before they tried to sell my care and he assured me that my car was still locked up and that no one could get to it at all.

So I went in on Tuesday and looked for Ronnie and they said he did not come in. I said but I had an appointment with him and he did not call me or anything and the salesman said he would get someone else to help me.

The new salesman Tony Brooks said he would try and find out what he could. He came back and gave the keys to my car and got theirs back and said we could not make a deal because my care was too upside down and they could only get a low amount approved for me,

So I said is that my car on the lot, because Ronnie said it would be locked up and he said salemen down know. I went to my car and everything that I left in the car was gone.

I asked where my things were and he said he did not know and that the person who cleaned it out was not there and to call him on Wednesday and I did, but to no avail could not reach him.

So I went to Bill Heard when I got off work and I saw Tony standing around, but when he saw me get out of my car he began to go the other way.

So I walked swiftly to catch up to him to find out what happened to my things and why he did not answer my calls and said he said that my things were discarded and that they were working to find out what they would do about it.

I then said I wanted to see someone in charge because I wanted my things back, which in value adds up to about $2,500 to $3,000.00.

The manager (allegedly) I spoke with said that he was not authorized to make any decisions and gave me the number to the GM-Frank Covington, another Frank Covington over security, Clink Rainer General Sales Manager, and John Smith-General Manager.

I wrote all this to say beware of these snakes, they will lie and scheme to make a deal and don't care how they treat you in the process and if the deal is not going to profit them they will avoid you like the plague.

I tried calling Ronnie Chesser several times and did not reach him, nor will he return my calls. Bill Heard runs some crooked games with people.

I will update you on how all this turns out. Sherri-Very Frusted in Georgia

Always avoid the old "spot delivery" scam! It should be illegal.

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 12, 2008

This "spot delivery" thing is the oldest scam in the book, and should be illegal. And, it probably explains why Bill Heard is now out of business nationwide.

NEVER take possession of a vehicle from any car dealership until you have a DONE DEAL. This means APPROVED financing in hand with a FULLY EXECUTED finance agreement in hand as well. NEVER sign any forms ahead of time, and never leave blank spaces, although you will be pressured to do so.

"Spot Delivery" is a tool used so the salesman can meet his sales goals, usually end of month, and also to trap the customer. They get you used to the vehicle and sometimes even dispose of your trade, then come back and say we need more money down and/or your interest rate will be higher, your payment will be higher, etc.

Remember that YOU are in control, not the salesman. You are free to get up and leave at any time. I urge you to do it. Maintain absolute control over the negotiation process. You are in charge. It is your money, and your obligation once you sign the deal. Be sure it is a good deal.

The best way to get the best deal is to go as far as you can and then LEAVE and come back the next day after sleeping on it.

Always eat a good meal immediately before going car shopping. Very important as it will keep you relaxed and focused, and give you the needed energy to maintain your stamina in dealing with idiots.

I was a finance manager for General Motors for 15 years, How can anyone say that after 2 weeks from the point-of-sale shes a credit risk and must return the vehicle. I will say this from exprience. This is now becoming a common practice among GM dealers. Yes, Ronnie it is you and your dealers fault. No professional should never file fraudulent financial paperwork to be sent to me and I have to phone you and say that you filed it wrong. It looks bad for the company, you and the consumer. I left GMAC 4 years ago and dont regret it one bit. Also, GM teaches all of the employes involved in this unethical scheme that the consumer is a "credit criminal". Ill ask you this, if a consumer is a credit criminal why was he/she able to drive off your lot with one of your vehicles? That decision must be made at the POS not 2-6 weeks later after we verify the information. After so many fraudulent claims, yes GMAC can put you dealer on restrictions or worst case no longer finance your sales. I left General Motors because of the direction this company is heading. Its all about GREED. Thanks GM for screwing up the American Automotive Industry.

For the consumer, contact the state Attorney Generals office.

Not my fault

AUTHOR: Ronnie Chesser - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, October 02, 2008

1) Those items could not have ever been in a 97 Sebring. I asked her to take all of her valuables with her.
2) I tried to place her in the best vehicle for what she wanted
3) She did not meet the criteria to purchase another vehicle going from a 1997 Sebring to an 04 Tahoe, although I tried my best to get it done
4) At least she rode for a week and a half for free.
5) Don't blame me for your credit reputation

That's why you don't buy from Bill Heard Chevrolet

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 09, 2007

If it sounds to good to be true, it is probably just to get you in the door. These ads cost thousands of dollars, the money comes from people who come in believing there is a free ride at the of the rainbow. It pays to do a little research before you buy. Rip off report has plenty of articles on this particular dealer which leads me to believe there is problem.

Common practice and it's wrong.

AUTHOR: Mark (FlyingScooter) - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 01, 2006

My girlfriend had a similar situation with a chevy dealer afew years ago.
She was trading in a minivan and wanted an Aveo.
After much discussion, they told her she could get the Aveo due to financing issues.

She thought it was her credit, said thanks and got up.
That's when they looked at her and said: You've approved for a 2005 Tahoe, a difference of like 33,000 bucks! They'd sell her a Tahoe but not an Aveo?
She called me from the dlrship and i asked if she'd signed anything. She hadn't, so i told her leave immediately.

Two weeks later she went to another chev dlrship, told them what happened and she got a Cavalier for the cost of the Aveo.

You gotta love it when you can't get approved for 12,000 bucks, but you can 35,000+ approved.
right.
