Bill Heard Town Center Chevrolet ripoff approved for new car then was informed 7 days later couldn't get deal done without more down payment. Kennesaw Georgia

I went into Bill Heard Town Center Chevrolet to see about purchasing a new car. I informed them upfront that I was trying to rebuild my credit and I only wanted to use my Ford Tarsus and maybe $500 for my down payment. They told me that wouldn't be a problem, so they showed me some new impala's which were really to small but I needed to get something better than the Tarsus.

I worked with the salesman who took my information down and came back a few minutes later and told me they didn't see any problem in getting the deal done, so next I sit down with the finance manger, he got all of the contracts filled in and with a sticker price of about 25,000.

The f/m informed me that there was a $2500 rebate and with my trade the price was 26,519. or there about they had added all of the rebate back to the price of the car and other fees which made a total of about 29,500 or there abouts. Then he took the rebate and my trade off and brought it down to the price of 26,519 or there abouts and started saying something about this and that with the price.

I was told that my payments would be around $599 for 72 months which is more that I wanted. But I was trying to rebuild my credit after some hard times with my own business. I took the car on Tuesday Oct. 21 even though I had reservations about it.

My family took the car on a trip to Fla. that weekend and upon returning on Tuesday the salesman called me and said they couldn't get the deal done without more money down. What kind of a way to do business? I had to bring the car back after having it for 7 days and driving it and liking it. I tried to get my deposit check back but they couldn't find it. I will never do any business with this dealer or with GM in the future.
