I wish I had found the previous report on this site regarding BIOSAgent Plus.   The software program will inform you that critical updates are available before you pay $29.95.  After paying through Paypal, 2 days later I recieved an e-mail stating that there is no update however I have 1 year of free access to their database.  In essence, this company will tell you that they have something to get your money when, in fact, they do not.   I finally received the following reply after initiating a Paypal dispute:

How is this a scam?  If BIOSAgentPlus detects that there is a BIOS update for your PC and we determine that one is not available, we happily provide refunds to our customers.

That being said, you have already put a claim in with PayPal so there is no reason to refund the money here if you are already getting it back from PayPal.

You should have came to us first, you would probably have received your money back sooner letting us provide you with a refund rather than filing a dispute with PayPal.

These people have stolen $29.95 as they refuse to refund it.  They are abusing the Paypal buyer protection program by acknowledging that Paypal will pay it.

Refund followup.

AUTHOR: Chris M. - (United States of America)

The following is the message received from Cleverbridge which requested this entry on Ripoffreport be removed and my Paypal dispute be closed BEFORE they will consider the refund for products not supplied.

close the dispute and remove the post on Ripoff Report and we can expedite the process.

Kind regards,
eSupport.com Support Team

The notice from Paypal explaining why the claim was denied ...

This Claim is Now Closed

We completed our investigation for the following transaction:

Transaction Date:  Aug 10, 2012
Transaction Amount:  -$29.95 USD
Seller's Email:  paypal-inc@cleverbridge.com
Seller's Name:  cleverbridge, Inc

Unfortunately, we are denying your claim because your purchase was for a virtual, digital, or intangible item, which is not covered under PayPal Purchase Protection.  We only cover claims involving physical items that can be shipped and tracked.

We encourage you to work directly with your seller to resolve the problem.
You'll find their contact information on the Transaction Details page.

I do not believe that Cleverbridge ever had any intention of making a refund which is why I initiated the dispute.  The Paypal dispute process is in place to encourage both parties to resolve the issue rapidly before the need to escalate to a claim.  An honorable business would have refunded the money and even this submission on Ripoffreport would have illustrated how well they handle complaints.  Instead, they monitor this site and contacted me directly with respect to the initial submission offering to refund my money ONLY if this entry is removed and the Paypal dispute closed.  Don't they call that blackmail? lol.  They are certainly aware of the rules pertaining to Paypal's buyer protection policy and are willing to let the buyer go through the entire process.

Buyer beware!!  Cleverbridge DOES maintain an extensive database of driver and BIOS updates however an update may NOT actually exist when the BiosAgent Plus software program notifies you that a "critical update" is available.  If that is the case, kiss your $29.95 goodbye.
