This is my second Bissell Symphony Vacuum/Steam Mop, the first one gave out one year after it's warranty expired and $250 later.  This one I have had only 2 weeks and it's not a steam mop as Bissell represents, it's a wet mop.  I can mop 4 rooms and go back to room number one and water is still sitting on the floor.  What's worse, the water is barely warm so there is absolutely no sanitizing of my tile floors.  Step on the steam mop plate and you are greeted with a puddle of water.

Don't waste your money and Bissell's customer service absolutely sucks when it comes to consumer complaints.  A friend has the Oreck Steam Mop and has had it for years - she swears by it.  I have an Oreck Mellinium vacuum and swear by that so I will just return Bissell's garbage to Bed Bath Beyond for a refund and Oreck here I come for my new Steam Mop.  Bissell is not a member of the Better Business Bureau (for obvious reasons) and they sell a garbage product.

Bissell's Reply To Their Defective Product

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Monday, May 16, 2016

It's always our priority to provide good customer service but we are not in position to accept all warranty claims made without regard to the cause of the problem. Instead, it is our obligation to evaluate the situation carefully and determine its cause.

This machine is the upgraded in the Symphony series. If it leaves too much water on the floor, set the machine to low steam setting and make sure that you aren't depressing the trigger too long in one place.

Then check if there are cracks on the dummy filter at the back of the machine. Check the whole filter and look at the plastic mold lines for any cracks. They may be difficult to see, so be sure to inspect the filter in a well-lit area or room. If there are cracks the filter will need to be replaced.

Thanks,

My Response to Bissell's Reply:

Jessie your machine is 2 weeks old. It is not the 1st Bissell steam mop I have had and I believe I am intelligent enough to (1) know how to operate it and (2) know when a company is not going to honor their defective product by insulting a customer and making excuses.

If the machine is not to be operated on hi steam then why bother giving the customer that option.  It's brand new, why would there be cracks in a new machine unless of course it is a quality control issue during manufacturing.

I am simply going to return your defective product to the place of purchase and show management your email and Bissell's failure to keep a customer satisfied.  The company I purchased your defective product from is far more concerned with customer satisfaction than making pathetic excuses.

Your email for failed customer service on a brand new machine will be posted on appropriate forums as a warning to prospective customers.

There is a very good reason why Bissell is not a member of the Better Business Bureau.

Remember, it is the customer who keeps a business going and keeps you and management employed.
