We moved out of state and cancelled one membership with Bally's in December 2011, and another membership in January 2012 because we came to the new state at 2 different times.  I called and cancelled both memberships with Bally's, on the phone, and it was verbally confirmed that the memberships were cancelled.  On one of the memberships, I even had to pay an extra $35 to break the contract.  When we moved Bally's stopped charging our credit card, and everything seemed okay.

Six months later, BLAST fitness began to calling us and sending us bills for "our memberships," in Wisconsin. I called customer service and informed them that I cancelled the memberships and that we have not lived in that state for over six months.  They informed me that I needed to get a letter proving that I cancelled the membership.  I did not have a letter because Bally's did not request that I write a letter.  I did call Bally's and they confirmed to me that I did indeed cancel the memberships, and sent me what they could confirming this.  I emailed the documents from Bally's to Blast to prove we ended our memberships with what Bally's gave me, but now they are saying they will not accept this.

I have called customer service at least 5 times, I have sent numerous emails, and the last email I sent, I never heard anything back.  This week alone we have received 3 automated calls, and 4 paper bills in the mail--IN JUST ONE WEEK, this has been going on for almost 2 months now.  In my last email, I questioned why Blast is not communicating with Bally's, the company it bought out, and I have not received a response.  I also told them that if if this did not stop that I was going to begin filing complaints on the internet, with my local news station, and everywhere else I could BLAST them if this did not stop.
It has not stopped, and I wonder if Stephanie Cook will place a generic email commenting on this complaint that I contact her to discuss my concerns with BLAST fitness.  Well, I spent so much time trying to remedy this issue, yet no one will take responsibility and actually respond to my emails or calls.  With all of these complaints based on similar issues, it seems we may have enough dissatisfied people who are being taken advantage of and harassed.  Is it time for a class action lawsuit?
