Blind And Shutter Pros And Mike Margott, Don't Trust This Company And Person Shutters installed, with all the rip off reports on the Margotts I am truely not sure if they are Basswood as they promised, however there were other problems... Newbury Park California

I am writing to you because I truly had the pleasure of dealing with Mike Margott and his business Blind and Shutter Pros recently. We had recently placed a large order with them and 4 weeks into waiting (the 6 weeks they had told us) I searched on google for the website for the company and read the ripoff reports about the company. I then called the company a few times and was not getting any answers.

Finally Mike Margott picks up and was rude and asked why was I calling since it hasn't been 6 weeks. A word of advice to Mike: if you wanna make your customer happy you don't make them uncomfortable to call. After this I was still very anxious to see if they would actually show to deliver our shutters and was fully ready to call a lawyer at this time. They did call and after much delay (the installation was delayed for a while and plus they were late the day of installation with not so much as a phone call by the Margotts to us) and the installation took place.

Now, you would think my story would be finished right now, but of course how good would it be if it was. One of the shutters did not fit and the installer told us in no way was he going to be able to make it fit. When the blinds were being measured for estimate we were already reticent about putting one there in fear that it would not be able to open, and expressed this to the estimator which said it would be fine.

The installer then proceeded to call Cindy Margott (I have no idea what relation to Mike she is but I don't care anymore). Cindy then talked to us and told us that she would knock off 300 dollars off the price because of not being able to deliver the shutter. We then did calcuations and told her that our number was 378. She declined and we questioned how she got 300 in which she was not able to respond in a logical fashion. She then threatened to take all the shutters down and keep our deposit saying that we breached the contract, in which it was clearly them that breached the contract by not delivering the shutters as promised.

We then agreed to withhold 500 dollars off the price in which Mike Margott would contact us in order to resolve the issue. These shutters were installed about 2 weeks ago and still no phone call; if Mike is reading this your shutter that doesn't fit is still here please come pick it up or do what you want with it.

For the consumers, I strongly suggest anything with Mike Margott or Cindy Margott's name on it or anyone related to them I WOULD NOT USE. I am taking the time to write this, because I want money back or anything but because I don't want anyone else to deal with these people. Their price quoted is way below anyone else's but please don't let this sway your decision, they are not trustable.

I would file a Better Business Bureau report on them but it seems that they have been changing company names anyways to hide their shady enterprise since I see so many names of companies on this website I had no idea about (Broadway USA and Shoreline Shutters). Thank you for your time everyone please take me advice into consideration.

Fuuny how mike has his kids and friends post good comments. 

Mike's Sister in Michelle, who posted a good comment.

Dallas is a fake name that Mike's son Vincent Margott uses because if he uses the Margott name, it's mudd!

Just wanted to say my small shutter job, with a cellular shade blind and one
slider glass door, went off without a hitch.  With it being such a small order, I
thought I wouldn't even get a call back, like the 2 other companies I has contacted.  Not only was Michael Margott completely on time with my original appointment, but my shutters and blinds came in earlier than expected.  Cindy in the office, promptly called me for my installation appointment and the installer even accomodated me for a Saturday appointment.  The installer was really clean and fast too.  Didn't even
leave a speck of trash or dirt behind.  The price was less than the other prices and
even a bit less than Home Depot.  My hubby and I were really impressed with Michael's knowledge and pricing structure.  He understood my budget and gave me
some great alternatives then what I had originally wanted, but really couldn't afford.
In fact, I really liked his creative ideas for my budget.  Awesome experience. 

I always look on RIP OFF REPORTS before I order items, especially home improvement
since I had been burned by a contractor when we did our home re-model.  But I had
already ordered from Blind and Shutter Pros before I checked.  So, 2 weeks in I decided to check out of curiosity.  I have to admit, I was a little anxious during my
ordering period, but when my order came in earlier than planned, and more professional than many companies, I felt as though they needed an honest review back.  I am extremely happy with this company and will order more for my upstairs in a few months.  I would highly reccommend them to anyone!

No one will answer my calls

I gave a deposit for shutters 8 weeks ago. I had not had a call back to tell me when my order would be delivered and installed so tried to get an update starting about 2 weeks ago but no one will answer. I hope someone knows if the company is still in business and maybe have another number I could call.  Thank you.

I had one of the decorators come to my house from The Blind and Shutter pro's. She was very knowledgeable and very welcoming. Her price was actually equal to and a little less in some product groups for us, I had come out from Budget Blinds, 3 Day and Home Depot. We did a mixture in the home of blinds, cell shades and shutters and some custom drapes in our large dinning room. NOT only were the product on time and the customer service team at the office able to update me fully, but they were curtious and the installers were great. I WOULD highly reccomend them to my neighbors or family members. The product looks great was and on time.

THANK YOU GUYS FOR GETTING ME MY PRODUCT ON TIME AND INSTALLED!
