I gave the 4 reasons for rentals coming up missing.Customer pisses off employee.then he/she decides to keep your movie.or they will hid it in store somewhere.come inventory time,or shortly before movie shows up.well it's been @ least 40 days. we can't take it back into the system.so the customer is still out $23.00..no attempt to at least put a credit on their acct.no way to track the person down, because it's out of our system.unless store manager kept an active sheet, with customer name and movie bar code number on it.he doesn't care enough to do that.I gave him this idea.his response was "they should call sooner if they want their money."the best place to find rentals that employees hid are in the bottom of stacks of movies for sale.even then they will rip off the bar codes, total lost cause then. But well assign it a number and put it out for a rental, the next day.I really tried to fix this problem,by exposing some of the other theft this employee was doing.I was looked upon as a trouble maker.district manager got involed.employee was fired for theft.I had to leave for awhile due to a serious medical condition.5 months later I finally returned to work for one and half hours to be put on suspenion(fired) for unrelated work issues.yes the THIEVING employee made B.S. CLAIMS.powers to be ran with it.Days after the thieving employee was fired.store manager said i was next to go to two other employees. Can you believe the district manager thanked me for cracking the system this guy was using.I don't think corperate knows about it.after 5 months I had to look at my notes to remember. If "DL" does know the system as he claims.why does the store manager still have his job? after all I still have info for the company to protect their customers. But store managers grudge is more important? I could use a good attorney.what Ive told is the tip of the ice berg.don't give your credit card for securing a account, demand it to be removed.

Nuggets doesn't get it, you're right

Yeah, Nuggets doesn't get your story, Author.  I'm curious what these other claims are that were made up by the person who got fired.  The management must've had a pretty solid reason to believe something that came from a person caught hiding customers' rentals throughout the store.  Something doesn't add up.

As for the credit cards being stored, pretty much all video stores require some sort of insurance in case a customer skips town with a handful of DVDs they rented.  BBV is just making sure this doesn't happen.  As long as the address in the system is updated with the store you rent from, BBV will send notices via mail multiple times before trying to charge your card.  If you do not respond, you get charged;  that's why customers apply for a card and have their telephone # checked out.

As Michael Jackson would say You Are Not Alone

My DL worked out of the same store that a shift lead and csr were seeing each other. He did nothing...O...wait, he let them work together for more 3 months then promoted her into another store as a reward for sleeping with her SL. Everyone in the district knows how she got promoted and the DL looked the other way. I had a friend fired from another store for it at the samr time they were in my DLs store doing it. I know what you mean. And the credit card dishonesty, they had us doing it at all stores.

I think you're just a sour employee who got the crap end of a stick. You're using your old store as an example for the entire company when in fact, that's not how all stores and all employees act!

I've had plenty of people get overdrafted. Of course, it happens and it even happened to me. That's when you call the bank and try to get it reversed. That's what I did and that's what other customers (thanks to my advice,) did. And what happened? All money got returned to them and to me.

Oh, I know my job. Do you know yours? Ever call Word? Ever try to get transferred? Did you pay attention to the thief and how they acted with other managers? When it comes to something like that that can ruin a persons reputation for future jobs, you better well be able to cover your butt before you make any accusation. What that means is know your friends, your enemies and who to trust. You got yourself screwed trying to do good.

Yeah, the company wants to know, but that's almost nothing to them. Yes, it's better to tell the truth but not always to rat someone out. I'm not condoning thievery at all, but sometimes, when you have a human being to deal with, you come up to friendship, ethics, a job, money, and a future. So of course, everyone will be ruthless...especially in this economy.

Let me tell you why the CSR (you) was let go over the manager. Managers are hard to replace. Simple. And I'm sure that if you were ever to sit in front of loss prevention...they'd ask if you have ever taken a drink without paying. You'd probably say yes and I think everyone else in the company can too...but you know what? That's stealing. And oh...you're guilty too if you said yes and there's a valid reason you got canned.

Honestly, you'd be better off not wasting your time on rip off report trying to make the entire company seem like they're full of thieves and spend it trying to find a new job.

NUGGETS just doesn't get it.

You said "go through training 50% of theft is internal". Is that all? Whats the percentage for customers that lay down a credit or debit card, that can't prove they returned a movie? Better to be charged $50 now than a collections letter later as you said. What about debit cards? When a customer gets a overdraft fee at their bank? And it's an employees fault! Who pays? I'll tell you NOT Blockbuster! By the way the theft of a rental doesn't require a debit or credit card. Tell me this why wouldn't the company want to know how this theft is being done? Again I'll tell you. Think of the percentage of the money they would owe nation wide. Also rewriting programs so it doesn't happen again. So I suggest you learn your job! I mean other ways that CREDIT DETAIL BY EMPLOYEE doesn't jump out at you.

Seriously?

You made a report about that? You got burned for someone and the whole company has people who steal? In my three years with the company, I've had one person stealing...and it was money.

When you go through training, you will see that 50% of theft is internal. And I'm sure it's about the same with every other company like BBV.

Credit cards are given to secure accounts. Better a 50$ charge now that can be dealt with than a collections letter three months later. Also, if phone numbers are updated, then they get a phone call before they're even charged.

I suggest you get over it and move on. What a waste of time posting on here...GAL.
