All right, now I gotta say something...I'm trying to resolve it for 2 weeks now. When we decided to sign up for Blockbuster Total Access online account- there was required to put your phone number. I did put my husband's cell number. Then, he started to receive text messages about upcoming movies on his cell EVERY SINGLE DAY!! Off course, our cellphone company charge us for them. And nobody asked us if we want to receive any texts from Blockbuster on top of e-mails I get from them every other day. I signed back in to our online Blockbuster account wanting to delete phone number- but it's no longer there. BUT, we stiil receive text messages about this movies, I repeat, EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! I called Blockbuster and they told me that they do not send out any texts.(???!!!) Then who if my husband changed his cell number just a week before we signed up for Blockbuster and we didn't put his cell number out anywhere except Blockbuster website. He is not using any cellphone subscriptions or internet, not even all of his friends know about his new phone number yet. All messages come from the same number: 26706. It ain't regular phone number. I called our cellphone company and they said that they cannot cancel it unless Blockbuster will cancel it. And Blockbuster keep on telling me that they don't send any texts at all. What a..?? Texts started to show up on our cell couple days after we REGISTERED AT Blockbuster. And I talked to several reps in Blockbuster AND our cellphone company- they both keep on telling me they cannot do anything. Where's the thruth???v

Why not just text "STOP"?

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 29, 2007

When you get those kinds of things, horoscope junk or whatever, just text "STOP" back to that number. That discontinues the service and you won't get anymore text messages.

Also, you should be able to see who those texts are coming from on your wireless bill since they will be broken out. You can call your wireless carrier and ask them to reverse the charges and they will also tell you to text STOP back to that number in these cases.

Actually Listen

AUTHOR: Divo366 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 29, 2007

If you would actually listen, instead of just hating Blockbuster, you might get it figured out. I work for the company, and have for many years... we do not send text messages.. never have. Those 5 digit numbers, like your 26706, is one of those greedy companies you see in those commercials that will send you a 'joke' or 'horoscope'. It is not Blockbuster. I love the persons idea to 'sue' Blockbuster. Just listen again, we do not sell your information to anybody, nor do we send text messages.

threaten to sue blockbuster

AUTHOR: Mark - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 16, 2007

tell them that they are in violation of the law that that you want there mailing address, then tell them that if they do it again you will be sending them a letter stating that you intend on suing them for sending you text message, i would also tell them that you will be contacting the atorney general and the fcc. if they say they cant do anything about it then send them the letter.

dont send texts. Why not cancel your text service if youre not using it? If the cell company wont let you then cancel the cell company, cus thats some BS... ever think that it could be the cell co you are using?

I never heard of a co that wouldnt let you block out a certain number, something is fishy, and it aint blockbuster
