I went to Wal-mart and purchased a temporary Bluebird Card. I deposited $280.00 cash. The associate told me to make sure that I registered online to get the full benefits. So I come home and go online and try to register. Since I had a Serve account I was not allowed to register. I didn't find this out until filling the application out. So I contact Serve and cancelled my account. I go back to bluebird.ocm and register. It goes through then I receive and email stating I had to fax my drivers license and social security card. I thought this was a little crazy and checked the customer service number on the back of  the card.

They said yes I had to fax that stuff. Very sceptical I do this anyway to find out the number they gave me wouldn't take a fax. Instead it was a number to some vacation place. I call customer service back and I was given another number. I called the so called direct line to where the faxes went for authorization. The first lady tells me that the first fax number may not have been working, but the second number was a  direct number and I  should be receiving a conformation email at any time.

I didn't receive  a confirmation email so I called  back the next morning and get a message from Verizon and told the number had changed. Called customer service  which is supposed to e 24/7. I was told that I would have to call back in an hour because they could not help me. I wait an hour and call back and  the young lady told me that I was supposed  to use the first fax number and the fax was  broken to the second number. I was really puzzled then, cause I was sitting there looking at the confirmation fax. I informed that I would try the fax one more time as I don't like sending my identification like that.

So I get the identification faxed one last time. I call back they tell me that it  was to light to read and I needed to use  a smart phone. At that point I  am totally fed up and was not going to send my ID through for another fax and I am sitting there with both faxes in my had and could verifie the identity of myself.  I ask  could I get my money back since I gave them cash. They told me no, that I would  have to use the temporary card. I did not put that cash on the card  for the purpose of a gift card. At  this point the guy said well then go to Wal-mart and take the card and box and receipt and get money back.

Wal-mart was completely puzzled and tried to use it as a debit card to get my money back and close the account. I could not use it as a debit card and kept ringing up as a credit card. Forgot  to mention talked to numerous people about the identity thing and was told you didn't need to send your personal information for a prepaid card, which what I thought.  I have also sent an email and never received an answer. So I am filing this report today. Monday June23,2013 I am going to my local police station and filing charges against bluebird and I will also be contacting the better business bureau and possibly my local tv station. This is just crazy and insane for a simple prepaid card.
