This is going to take a small novel to explain all the lies and embellishments that sales people at Bluegreen Resorts in Charleston, SC presented to my girlfriend and me.

We were told that we could purchase 6000 points for $13,000 using these points toward Monday through Thursday at most any resort in high season and then pay $69 per day for Friday through Sunday for a 3 BR bonus
time to get a vacation for my kids who live in Germany except for six weeks in the summer. The problem is that the bonus time is only available 45 days before the time that we want to occupy the resort. Unfortunately
for us, those who purchase the resorts by the week snag up all of the properties leaving the junk for the little guys like us to take or wind up throwing points away and still paying full price for not going on vacation.

We tried to get out of this during the cooling off period, but no one would return our calls. Then after the 5-day period was over, we got a phone call returned and they told us how sad they were that the cancellation period had already elapsed and we were now stuck with our
purchase.

We were invited over Memorial Day weekend to return to Charleston, SC for a member update. They put us up in a hotel for two nights if we showed up for a 60-minute update. We shared all of our frustrations with Matt, but he said he was sorry about all the lies that were told getting us to purchase this timeshare and he made excuses about the unethical conduct of some sales staff and the high turnover rate of sales staff. He couldn't help us to get a refund but what he could do was help us to better utilize the timeshare. Of course, this also
required us to upgrade another 3000 points for an additional $6000 before I put my foot down and said enough is enough. He said, "If I bought a car for $13,000 and the transmission broke, what would I do?"
I bought a too-small package to be of any good and needed to purchase additional points. He called in a man who was from Morocco and who lived in Florida for 25 years so he is "practically" an American. He
came in trying to twist our arm telling us how we could purchase the additional 3000 points resulting in 18,000 points every other year which would get us any vacation that we wanted including week-long vacations in a Scottish castle. We decided to opt out of this offer and went on our way. They refused to take any ownership in the lies that were told during the initial sales presentation on 31 DEC 07. Matt told us that
he was tired of telling the lies that it takes to get people to sign on the dotted line and now he only works on "in-house" customers to help them better use their timeshare.

I just got my membership cards with my timeshare number in the middle of April. She has yet to receive anything. We still have not have recieved our RCI card so that we can use the "last minute" deals of the timeshare.

We really got taken for $13,000. We are both from broken families. My kids come over from Germany for 6 weeks in the summer to visit and I really wanted to make a memorable vacation to last them until the following year. I will not get that at all with Bluegreen but will end up paying for this for the next 10 years just not to use it. And we will have to pay $450 per year for maintenance fees (God willing they do not
increase like I've read on www.ripoffreport.com) - the maintenance fees net them at least $23,400 for a 1 BR apartment if all 52 owners own enough points to secure a full week at that resort. That is nothing close to what I have so this really turns in to clear profit for these
money-hungry profiteers.

Bonus time

I am a Blugreen owner and live in the UK
I work in the textile industry and have fixed holidays which are in the school hols
we are going to SC this July arrive late on Sat 26th JULY yester day I have just booked BONUS TIME for Charleston for that weekend .
So please do not tell me Bonus Time Does not work.
Join the Bluegreen group on Yahoo and you will get to know how to use your points when to buy from BG and when to buy resale.
Dont sit on your arse saying your from broken homes just get off them and find out what you can do instead of moaning about it then you can have you holidays with the kids at very little cost

That's funny. I am a Bluegreen owner and love it. I have only had a minor inconveinence which resulted in 1 day less on vacation. I saw this and went through my paperwork. My contract that I signed CLEARLY states in very big letters you have 5 days to cancel. These letters are about three times the size and right above where you sign. It also states in BIG letters you have to mail a written notice to the main office and that the cancellation is considered valid the moment it is postmarked. Why would you call? I love traveling in 1 or 2 bedroom with kitchens, jacuzzi, etc. I will not stay in a motel room again and if there is not a resort located wherer I won't to go , I won't go.

I'm so sorry to hear about your issue's with this timeshare company, I have always been weary of these types of vacation offers as they always seem to good to be true and we all know how that saying goes.

If I were you I would get a copy of your phone records to show that you did try to call them over and over again during your 5 day trial period and as soon as it had expired they called you back just to say, oops so sorry but your now locked in just like we planned it, then I would contact a lawyer. I'm sure there is someway to get out of this deal and although some would say, it will end up costing you more in legal fees in the end, you have to ask yourself would you rather pay legal fees so these scam artist's know they can't play you for a fool or would you rather sit back, keep quiet and let them rip you off?

Hope you get what you are wanting in the end and these people get the rugs pulled from under them.
