-I attended a partylite candle party on 4-30-2006. I ordered candles and paid with a check. The party was in Pittsburgh, PA
I know from previous parties that it takes 2 weeks to receive your candles. After 2 weeks I called my friend who held the party to see where my order was.
My friend said "Michelle Britner was waiting for more orders from another party to place the order."
This made no sense to me. But I trusted my friend and said I would wait patiently.
On 6-22-2006 our check had cleared our bank and had been cashed. I figured at that point the order was finally placed. So I waited 2 weeks to get my order.
When I called my friend to see where my order was, I was told that my check was cashed, the money had been spent and we are not getting our candles.
Paula Morris is the company representative from Partylite who was training Michelle Brittner. All checks and cash payments were made to Paula Morris forged by Michelle Brittner and Michelle has spent everyones money.
Now I am trying to retrieve my money or my order and also everyone who was ripped off. A total of $210 was stolen from trusting customers.
I have contacted Partylite on this matter several times with very little satisfaction.
At first Yvonne at Partylite said that she would return my call on 7-11-2006. I am still waiting on 7-12-2006 to hear from Yvonne. Instead she contactd my friend who held the party and informed her that she will need receipts and proof of payment slips from all party guest.
Unfortunately my only receipt is my cancelled check which has forged signatures by Michelle Brittner. I lost my original receipt, After all it has been 2-1/2 months
You would think Partylite would make this matter go away by sending the candle orders to its paying customers and then deal with Michelle and Paula themselves.
Instead, I have to report Michelle to the police and the bank and write this bad business report about Partylite and there bad business practices.

PartyLite upheld their obligations

After numerous phone calls and complaining, PartyLite finally gave in on the free gifts for the party hostess.
I had to call my friend Stacey, who is a PartyLite unit leader.
Stacey called PartyLite and talked to Judy in Customer Relations and explained to her the problem. Judy decided to send out the gift certificate to the hostess of the party and also sent apology gifts to all guests.
Everyone is now satisfied with how PartyLite handled the situation.

Well it looks like everyone got their money back.
Michelle Brittner returned all money, receipts, and non-cancelled checks.
She also made good on the forged check.
Paula Morris had no hand in what Michelle did and is a team leader with PartyLite and her reputation was scarred by what Michelle did.
Now the only thing we are trying to get is the Hostess gifts that my friend earned by having the party and supplying food, drink and friends.
We shall see how Partylite handles this.
I greatly appreciate Paula Morris' assistance in retrieving mine and everyones money.
Michelle Brittner has apologized and regrets all inconviences caused.
