My daughter in law went to buy a used Kia from this dealership in November. After choosing a car she went to the office to sign paperwork. The guy in the office (Sean) "sold" her an extended warranty for $2,000, plus window etch tire "protection", and undercoating for rust. The total for all the extras was over $4,000 dollars! They sold her this bill of goods without explaining any of it.

When I called to talk to a manager I was told they didn't have to tell me anything because I didn't sign the papers. When my daughter in law called them, they told her she had to come in. It went on and on. They said The manager was'nt there, she had to wait three months to cancel. I called my bank and they said none of it was true. She has a much higher payment than she signed up for and the issue is still not resolved.

I will let everyone I know about this shady dealership and the scummy way they do business. If anyone reading this is considering buyering from this outfit, DON'T Do it!

Where's the ripoff

AUTHOR: Steven - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 06, 2008

If your daughter-in-law is so easy going she should have probably been escorted by someone with more sense.

None of this really adds up to a ripoff. Lots of dealerships in Florida and SE have the undercoating added when the car is received in port. Ever heard of a car rusting out from underneath. It happens in Florida from the salt and sand on the road. Salt clings underneath and you may have a hard time washing it out. End result is car rusting out. This is normally listed as an after factory job added on to the price of the car. You of course can either talk the dealership into cutting this cost out, or if it means that much to you special order the car and ask that the undercoating not be applied. If nothing else you can take it somewhere else and have it done for half the price the dealership tacks on.

Extended warranty (would you like to supersize that order of fry and drinks). Means additional profit for the dealership. Your daughter in law had the option of saying no, no, no, no, not interested but evidently did not.

Life lesson number one - When going to a car dealership know what you want or what you can afford (often two different things). If you go in unprepared you will end up paying more than you want for something you may or may not be happy with.
