I happily accepted a free issue of The Official Xbox Magazine that was offered by Xbox. I then received my magazine, and figured I would check it out. I then received a second issue of the magazine, and I thought was lucky and received an extra issue.

Then I received a bill from Xbox Official Magazine asking for $24.95 for 12 issues. I kindly ignored the offer since the others were free right? Then I received a bill stating that I had a past due amount for the Subscription in which I didn't sign up for.

Now I just received a Collection Letter Alert 2 months later from a collection agency called NSA (North Shore Agency Inc.)to collect a debt, and resolve this matter. Most people would obviously get scared and pay the $24.95 collections bill so they wouldn't ruin their credit over a magazine subscription.

I did some research, and found on the Better Business Bureau website and found that NSA has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau, because there is a pattern of complaints, and the business has not corrected the underlying reason for the complaints.

I'm sure at this point Future US Inc. and Xbox Official magazine will tell me to contact NSA(North Shore Agency Inc. the collection agency) because it's out of their hands now and now an attempt to collect a debt.

Future US Inc. Is a Publishing Comany that Publishes 10 magazines including The Official Xbox Magazine. You can look up these magazines at their site at
http://www.futurenetworkusa.com/customerservice/index.php

I want to worn others so this doesn't happen to them. NSA is paid by many magazine and book companies and has been doing this a long time, but its getting worse. Don't get hooked into the free issue scam!

Kevin Goodman is Vice President & General Counsel of the collections company NSA (National Shore Agency Inc. Their main numbers are, (800) 488-1194, (516) 293-0673, (516) 370-9300, and (516) 439-4091. Their fax number is
(516) 391-3313. I will add to this, and keep you posted on the outcome with whomever claims responsibility. If I have to I will contact Mr. Goodman himself because this is a tactic to get peoples money for subscriptions that they don't want, or never even signed for. Thanks

NSA, NCO STRIKES AGAIN! 2 WEEKS AFTER THEY SAID THEY TOOK ME OFF THEIR LIST!!

AUTHOR: Toyotatechnician - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 25, 2008

August 25, 2008 2 Weeks after I called XBox Official Magazine Subscription department, and NSA which is NCO, they call me again with an another attempt to collect a debt that is not valid. Xbox Official Magazine says I have no account open, and NSA/NCO said they took me off of their list. They are involved in hundreds of book, magazine and other tactical companies and being paid by these companies to collect a so called debt, which is only an attempt to collect a subscription a product by the specific company that has hired them to do the dirty work. They handle all the letters of collection attempts, and phone calls that magically happen during the weekdays, and it is never a real person, but a recording. They sound convincing and I'm sure they persuade hundreds if not thousands with their tactics, and marketing experience, by scaring you into thinking your credit will be ruined.

When I told them they weren't a collections company and I knew about Mr. Kevin Goodman being a Vice President, of both their company, and a company called AdPerk which is a marketing company, that has strong skills in collecting money, helping companies collect fake debts, and expert persuasion to collect magazine, book, and other fake, or falsified subscriptions from unsuspecting people. They immediately told me that it would be fixed and I would be taken off their list. THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!

They have a very convincing telephone message, and a letter in the mail claiming that they are a Nationl collection Agency (known by NSA North sore agancy, or NCO. The key word is Agency. They are not a real collection department, and if you call them up they will ask you a series of questions like, are you underage?, are you over 18?, and a couple others. THAT IS A RED FLAG THERE! Google them on the Net, or look into them and try to find the connection you will be shocked. It is not illegal in what they are doing, but I have lost faith in the magazine companies, so I will be buying from legitimate wholesale magazine companies, or off the bookshelf to avoid this crap. This is the second time the have done this, and I think by the third time then it would be concidered harassment, but I don't know.

I may need some advice for myself and others experiencing the same problems that haven't gone away. They are hoping you will pay for the subscription, so they can get paid by the companies that hire them to do this shrewd act of marketing. Most people will do it out of frustration so they go away, but stop paying if you didn't sign up, or agree to pay for anything. but after I call them a second time, I will say the same thing, and tell them about my rights and the harassment that they are trying to do by calling even after I called both companies.

If you call just tell them you know they aren't a collections company, and you know about Kevin Goodman being a co-founder of the AdPerk Marketing company and they are fake. That should keep them off your back until the next time. In the mean time, I will pursue this, and if I have to inform them about the harassment and legal action I am entitled to if it happens the third time.
I will keep you posted on the second attempt between the magazine company XBox Official Magazine, and NSA/NCO.

Startling info on Kevin Goodman Vise President of NSA (North Shore Agency)

AUTHOR: Toyotatechnician - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 06, 2008

I have just done some more research about NSA (North Shore Agency) and found some startling information. First let me first say that Mr. Kevin Goodman is Vice President and General Counsel for NSA. I googled information looking for a contact number and stubled upon this website http://www.adperk.com/meetmgmt_out.php?page=about

This company is called AdPerk which is a marketing company. Mr. Goodman is a Co-founder and Executive Vise President at this company. You have to go to this site to believe it, and to come to some conclusions. Let me write a paragraph on this site that explains his accomplishments back in the 1980's

Kevin has over 20 years of experience in sales, direct marketing, product fulfillment and accounts receivable management. In the early 1980s, Kevin founded Slang World Enterprises, a product development firm featuring innovative and proprietary products sold through direct marketing channels including print, radio and television. In 1995, Kevin began serving as general counsel for North Shore Agency, Inc. the preeminent accounts receivable management firm servicing the direct marketing industry. In 1997, Kevin helped engineer the sale of that business to Outsourcing Solutions Inc., where he also began serving as vice president and assistant general counsel.

After taking this all in hit the home button on that website, and it has a few choices including Value Exchange, Data, and Guaranteed Results. If you want to surf that site some more you will have to paint your own picture on what's going on with these Collection Alerts that we are getting to collect Money for the Subscriptions that we didn't buy, or ask for.

There is however one thing that we did that allowed them to do this with this alarming collection letter. We sent for a free issue, asked for some information about certain magazines, or books, and gave them the chance to have our information to process these letters to collect for the subscription that we may have been inquiring or looking at. Even if it was online.

If I am wrong about this assumption or any of this please correct me, but I am usually right about analyzing things, and this is one that I think I figured out, and I am furious about this stunt pulling. I hope this sheds some light and something is done about these magazine and book traps. If not then you will continue to educate the people to not buy magazines anymore except from a store, or from companies that don't do grey marketing to get subscribers. Thanks
