I contracted with this company via their online website to buyback a few of my college textbooks.
I created a buyback order that included 8 textbooks for $129.00
I sent the books via USPS in a sturdy brown box using the shipping label that they provided for me and lots of packing tape.
Delivery of the box to Bookbyte has been confirmed by the post office.

Bookbyte claims that the box was delivered to them empty by the USPS except for the packing material that I used to protect my textbooks with during shipment. Bookbyte sent pictures to my email inbox of the packing material contents they received. They also sent me, I think by mistake, a picture of the label on the top of the box that was still sealed and claimed that "there are other ways to open a box"
The customer service representative I spoke with offered ridiculous ideas regarding what may have happened, spoke in circles, used canned responses, and allowed me to catch him in several lies to which he responded with more canned responses saying that they could not pay for books they did not receive. I used this company because they have an erroneous A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Later I did a Google search for this company and discovered that many people have also been scammed for their text books.

I figured that I would post my experience here at the ripoff report so that others might see this company for what it is. Scam artists, thieves, and liars.

I have already contacted local law enforcement in my state (Florida) and I intend to contact law enforcement in their jurisdiction of Salem Oregon. I will also contact the BBB later today when they open. I will contact the FTC, and I am waiting to hear back from several news channels. I think the Attorney General will be on the list too.

Bookbyte owners beware, I have unequivocal proof that you stole from me. I am also unemployed just now and have nothing better to do than expose you for this crime. I am an excellent webmaster capable of creating a website that will appear on the first page of a Google search for your company. I also know how to make videos that appear on the first search page of you tube. Lets the games begin. You will certainly regret not having paid me my lousy $129 bucks.
