Bottarelli Research Disreputable company Naperville Illinois

I wanted to learn about options.  From many sources, I selected Bottarelli Research.  I set aside $5,000 to play with.  While expecting a gain based upon their claims, I could lose it all and not be bothered.

I did about 30 trades.  I lost all of the $5,000.  Here is what i learned from the experience.

Although I was on my trading platform 5 seconds after receiving the Bottarelli email notice to execute an option, I was never able to get the price they listed.  I'm retired and generally at my computer during the trading day.  Most times the price had already gained significantly.  So i never had the base price from which the Bottarelli gains are proudly reported.  Most of the time, it already had gained 10-20% before I could exercise an option.

Then i would get the excited email notice that congraduated me on another profitable trade and recommened that i sell with let's say a 28% gain, sometimes on the same day.  Five seconds later I would be on my trading platform but i could no longer get the number they noted.

So I bought at about 50% less on the upside and was able to sell at about 50% less than Bottarelli's number.  When you add the commission from the trade, I seldom gained anything and most of the time lost.

So I think all of the Bottarelli reported numbers are correct and honest, if you are sitting in his chair.  The stated option could have been bought 15 minutes ago for the price they say and could have been sold for the number they state 15 minutes ago.

So i learned that options move very fast.  Unless you are at it continuously, you will probably not be able to match the stated Bottarelli.

I switched over to their LEAP service which is more long term.  It is not daily trading.  I have only done 4 trades and have made 10% on an Apple option recommendation.

So I learned.  Cost me $5,000.  Now i know.  Maybe worth it?
