#1 Consumer Suggestion

Don't make demands to the company, Contact your bank, tell them that the charge is not authorized and request it be credited

AUTHOR: Bruce - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, January 21, 2006

There are other people on the site that have found that this company is not at all interested in refunding them, and got their money back by working through their bank. Discontinue calling and writing the company, as you indicated you planned to do, they will ignore you and expect you to go away out of frustration. Immediately, you should:

1. Contact your bank, tell them that the charge is not authorized and request it be credited;

2. Write to the Consumer Affairs division of your State Attorney General's office. Even if your specific case is not used to prosecute them, all documentation that they collect gives them a better case to pursue this criminally, if necessary (they can pursue on behalf of all ripped off consumers in your state);

3. Write to the Federal Trade Commission, outlining the abuse of your bank account. They also can pursue the matter criminially. They are at: Federal Trade Commission; 600 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, Washington, DC 20580

Once you make a complaint to the state attorney general and the FTC, you put the company on both agencies' radar. When companies start getting mail from these two agencies, their attitude changes extremely fast. It is best to write to them early on, sending them copies of what you send to your bank and the company from this date forward.
