I have to share THE worst hair appt experience EVER! Found BRAIDS BY TAE on Craigs List advertising her services as the best braider and flexi strand braider.  I went to her website and read all her reviews and testimonials which in retrospect I know they are fraudulent testimonials and pictures of her work.  I talked with her on the phone, supposedly she went over the flex strand process with me. I asked her if she had samples of the hair so I could see colors and textures, etc. she did not have samples. So I did a little research on the web and found the flexi strand website that had hair for a fraction of what she stated the hair cost, which was $216. I Called her back and asked her why was there such a price difference between her price and the website; she stated that was not the same hair she uses. I said that was good because the hair on the website had a crown piece that looked to me like a wig which I did NOT like. So I scheduled a consult so I could order the hair. Hair was supposed to be here within a week; it took 2 weeks to come from NC; go figure. She called me when the hair arrived and we set up an appt; she started the process and it was the exact same hair that was on the website; the same WIG looking crap that sits on top of your head. And the quality is horrible; no refund on hair so since Ive already paid $216 I went ahead and let her go ahead and braid it in thinking maybe she can work it. HORRIBLE MISTAKE. She braided it in, BARELY then she started putting hair pins all throughout the hair into the tracks. Im talking about 30 hair pins into the tracks. I told her she didnt mention during the consult that you had to put hair pins it it; she said thats how her mentor taught her to do it. While she was braiding it in I asked several times for a mirror; her kids said they couldnt find it; finally when she was done she found a little mirror that was broken; it was dark in her house so with poor light and a broken mirror it was very hard to see the finished product. Got home late that night and looked in the mirror and was mortified; there were pieces of tracks sticking out through the hair; there were hair pins sticking out. Oh, she also didnt tell me during her consult that she couldnt cut/style the hair. So it looked like a total mess. I called her the next morning and she was stunned that I didnt like it; said she could try to fix it next week! NEXT WEEK!!! I went to a salon that day, had it taken out which took all of 5-8 minutes which shows it was not braided it. Every stylist in the salon was horrified that someone would actually do such a horrible job and actually charge someone for it. Flexi strand braider charged $50 to braid it so now I was out $266 and on top of that I had to pay a real professional to fix my hair. Just beware......SHAWNTA BUTLER aka SHAWNTA BROWN aka BRAIDS BY TAE is a RIPOFF.  SHE CANNOT BRAID AND SHE WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND WASTE YOUR TIME BY PROVIDING A HORRIBLE SERVICE.
