I've been having problems with a brake vibration in my 2006 Sebring for the last year.  I've replaced the front rotors and pads but that didn't seem to help as the rotors keep warping.  So, I ordered some high-quality rotors online for all four wheels and planned to replace them myself.

I've been so busy, I saw Brakeway's $99 brake special so I gave them a call.  I told the operator (it was a main number) that I had my own rotors, but wanted the $99 brake special and wanted to know if they would install my rotors.  She said "no problem" so I made an appointment to bring the car in at 1:00 p.m.

When I arrived at their location about 15 minutes early, a lady greeted me at the counter and said "oh, you've got the Sebring.  Well, it's going to be 3-4 hours before we can get you in."  I said "I had an appointment at 1:00" and she said "that doesn't matter, there's a lot of cars ahead of you."

Okay fine, so I have to wait.  She pulled up my work order and said "oh, you have your own rotors?"  I said "yes, I already talked to the scheduler about that".  She then said "well, I won't do that car for $99, it's going to cost you $179 because it's really not worth my time to put it on the rack if I can't sell you new rotors.".  I said "I don't need new rotors, I already have them."  Then she said "it's going to cost you $179, plus I'm going to charge you $10 per rotor to change them out."  I reminded her that the rotors had to come off anyway to do the brakes.  She then invited me to go elsewhere as she didn't want my business.

I should have known better.  My son took his Tahoe to them about a month ago and they also wanted to replace his rotors because they were rusty on the edges and that they were unsafe.  If you know anything about rotors, they are made of steel and DO get rusty.  His $99 brake jobs was going to cost around $549.

This place is a complete ripoff.  They lure you in with a $99 special then try to sell you high priced parts.  That's how they make their money.  Avoid them at all costs!
