I HIRED A rESTORATION COMPANY AFTER A fire IN MY HOME.

I contacted BRC RESTORATION out of Safety Harbor to come in and do the repairs.

I met with the OWNER - RON Fink and his Sales Rep Steve Pouliot who came to my residency to do a walk thru of the Fire Damage.

Shortly thereafter I contact the Mtg. Company and the Insurance Company who sent out an inspector to do a walk through with me, the home owner and BRC Restoration.

A punch list was " generated" by BRC of the repair items, cost of repairs and given to the Insurance Company Inspector to get APPROVED.

About 10 days later I received a Call from Steve Pouliot indicating they gotb the APPROVAL to start the work... Holy Sh*t , I expected in a few days... three weeks later I get a Call that they were coming in on a Thursday to " start ".

And now the B.S. starts....

A four week job turned into 7 or 8 weeks of pure BULLSH* T.... I mean BULLSH*T...

The Plumber who seemed to be a a world of confusion to install one slop sink took 2 weeks to get it done. It was one B.S. problem with this friggen moron after another. First he had not brought  the correct parts on the truck - a delay. Then, he didn't have pcv tubing.... another delay... a few days later he comes back... smelling like fecus and sweat that made you want to gag... and is fighting the carton trying to get the sink out of the cardboard box.

So, I walk into the house, because watching this mental case-incompetant guy reading directions and screaming that the " plastic legs of the slop sink kept falling off.".. just pissed me off. An hour later I came back into the garage... he was gone. He packed up his tools and just left. What Duhhh. Why did he leave ??? No explanation ... nothing... he just up and left.

The next day I call the so called foreman... a CHRIS Sarquis... duhhhhh.... another &^%$#& and we will leave it at that...so I call him up...  " Ay, what the hell happened to the FRUIGGEN Plumber yesterday... he had to leave... I asked why... " he got frustrated"... I said is he coming back?? Not today.... he has a truck problem.... and the truck is laid up... hey... then get somebody else here and now... " A God Dam* 2 hour job at best turns out to take over a week to get done. What do theyhire  imbicles to work for them ?   Wait it gets better ( really worse ).

The cleaning women then come a few days later. They did a OK job, but you had to go over everything again yourself... so... what was the purpose of hiring these two &&%^#     ?

Then the Painters... they challenged you on " everything ", and GOD FORBID you pointed something out that needed to be addressed... they put a GOD DAM* attitude on you... the homeowner. They work for me... I don't work for them.

Then another guy shows up who if he was 60 looked 85 at best. This guy looked sickly, skinny... I mean a skinn guy  .... I felt bad for this guy... You could tell just by looking at him, he was in pain ( HIS BACK ). He was lifting cabinet draws from my office that weighed more than him. With each trip... the poor guy was huffing & puffing like he was going to have a stroke, and wincing with pain... again it was his back.

Between the painters, the foreman, the plumber, the old man, it was a mental cases convention in my home. .... and I was the head mental case for putting up with the BULLSH*T. I should have thrown them off the job and hired a competant company.... DO NOT DO BUSINESS withe BRC RESTORATION... you'll need tranquilizers, drugs, pot and coma drugs to keep your sanity - What a company. It reminded me of the OLD 3 STOOGES MOVIES.

You would call the job site Mgr... who was never around. You would call his cell phone and he'd never call back.... or.... if he did it was hours later. Even his own co-worker tried calling him numerous times to call him back to tell him to call me... and that never happened. What the HELL do you carry a cell phone for if you don't use it ?

Now the major problem:

I received a punch list showing the prices billed to the insurance carrier. I kept that punch list.... good thing .  I started to notice major things were billed, but never happened, nor done.... hummmm very odd.

I contacted my Attorney who said I needed to contact the Insurance Carrier. I did. I have a problem with BRC's Billing.. whreby, its on the list billed to the Insurance Company, but I know the items weren't done. So, I was told to send them a letter, the punch list and they were gpomg over every single line by line entry billing. The insurance Company stated should they find items were remitted to get paid to BRC Restoration, and they were in fact PAID on their draws and the work was " NOT " I repeat " not " done... or items billed and those items never appeared at the job site, they would bring this to their Legal Department, Then to the Attorney General's Office in a Complaint, then litigate a FRAUD CASE. If there is one thing... no two things I hate is a " Thief" and a LIAR.

Now, I will wait for the Insurance Company to respond with their Investigation.

On Thursday November15th Ron Fink the owner came over...they asked me to endorse the check over to their company. It was a two party signature Check. What got me suspicious was.....  he wouldn't show me the final draw amount - WHY ?

I then said to him?  " RON... whose going to pay for the broken office cabinet, and all the cabinet tops ( 8 ) your old man ripped off  the main draws? His response was... what do you expect me to do ?  " I expect you to repair the damge your crew caused "

Then I said to him... what about the insulation you were supposed to blow back up on the ceiling ? He refused to answer that question. I then asked him... you were supposed to removed all the smoke filled insulation in the rest of the house and have 12 inches of NEW INSULATION blown in... never answered. Hummm... now you pissed my a** off. So now, you are going through a compolete AUDIT by the INSURANCE COMPANY line by line by line. If they find out you were PAID on your three draws for work not done... your dead meat. I will testify against your old man a**, and I will not STOP until your either fined, or put in JAIL.... You pissed off the WRONG ITALIAN my dear friende. Now... we wait and see.

You better hope they don't cross reference your billing to what you were PAID and find out you falsified the paperwork and accepted their  checks.

Rest asurd... this is just the beginning... I am going to do everything I can to have The State, The Insurance Company and me... make your miserable life... even more miserable  one bad day after another... and it will be done " legally ".

rebuttal regarding BRC AND THE REBUTTAL PARTY

AUTHOR: wethepeople - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 12, 2012
Don't you dare speak up for any company as you have . You know " nothing" of what took place ... you condemn the homeowner, complaint may have been valid..
How or why would the homeowner write up a report if it wasn't factual. You are in NO POSITION to JUDGE the other homeowner - you weren't there. You have no conception of what went on.. absolutely none. Your job may have gone well, but never assume that all is or was well with the goings on at the residency of the original homeowner.
Why would anybody write up any company unless there was a problem. Most people would just want to get the job done and walk away saying " Thank God its done... Finally".

So now you have to ask yourself what if the HOMEOWNER contacted the INSURANCE COMPANY.
You know the Insurance Company is going to take the information and go over " everything" with the homeowner. You know that if the Insurance Company finds discrepancies they could very well charge ABC CORP or XYZ CORP with INSURANCE FRAUD. Formally working for a law firm, the Insurance Company will investigate any claims to any payout made to any Company line by line by line by line. If any company was PAID for work not actually performed, The Insurance Company could charge any individual with insurance with FRAUD with will bring any party, any owner, into a CRIMINAL situation of INSURANCE FRAUD. If no discrepancies are found, that individual or that company has nothing to worry about. However " if" there are in fact discrepancies and the company involved was PAID for work performed but not done, then it becomes a matter of Intent to Defraud, and we are looking at Criminal Intent to Defraud. You can't say down the road... oh I over billed it by mistake. Once you excepted payment by a Insurance Company, deposited a Check under Fraudulent pretenses, you can't say...... " OH you caught me. I'll return the difference of what was found out to be billed but the work not performed. " The laws are specific. You can't do the time, don't do the crime. Whether the homeowner reported the matter or not , makes NO DIFFERENCE. The facts may speak for themselves based on what may or may not have been said, or if an investigation could be warranted. Any in house Attorney representing any Insurance Company will go over any facts presented if that is what any home owner brought to the attention of the insurance carrier's attention. It is like  robbing a bank, taking the money, then you get caught... you can't go to the POLICE or COURT and say... It is all a mistake... sorry here's your money back... but please.... don't prosecute me.

So, to the homeowner... look at what you feel is the right thing to do. If you feel you were WRONGED or you feel that what may have been done is questionable... you should do what you feel is right in your heart . If it should go further - who knows - you as the homeowner have nothing to worry about. If the other party was straight up and everything was done correctly and legal, they should  " not " worry. However, if it even points to a $100.00 discrepancy. ... 99% of the time the INSURANCE COMPANY will go forth to The Insurance Commission, The State & District Attorney in that State & County and there may be charges levied.
There are always two sides to the story, but should any improprieties be uncovered,  there may very well be WAR ON with the Insurance Company, or Bank, or whatever entity was involved.

Good Experiences with BRC Restoration

AUTHOR: Ryan L - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 12, 2012

I have dealt with BRC restoration previously, and the experience was nothing but great.  I actually had such a great experience and they did such a great job that I have recommended them to multiple people and they have all had similar experiences.  I have personally used BRC for several of my rental properties, and my own home for some light mold remediation.  Not only are they responsive and do great work, their pricing is very competitive and much cheaper than some of the larger restoration companies.

Every time I have used BRC restoration, they have been nothing but professional, courteous, and helpful.  The first time I used them, they rushed out in the middle of the night to repair a massive water leak that was going on in a second floor bathroom at one of my rental properties.  They came out immediately and stopped the leak, collected the water, and started drying the whole home savings us thousands of dollars in potential water damage repairs down the road.

I felt compelled to write a response to this report, because its quite obvious the author has some serious issues.  I have dealt directly with several of the BRC employees(Chris Sarquis, Ryan Fink) and they are stand up gentlemen and are professional when doing their job.  If there was an issue going on here, I'm pretty sure that it was the HOMEOWNER that was causing it.  Calling people names, mocking elderly people, and claiming acts of vendetta does not sound appropriate or warranted when writing a compliant.

I hope that anyone reading this response has enough sense to realize the original author of the complaint sounds a little crazy, and what he detailed might not be the true story of the events.  Like I said, Ive personally used BRC several times and never had an issue, and I'm sure there are countless other BRC customers out there that would agree.  I really don't see the BRC staff behaving like this "Wrong Italian" is claiming.
