Human Resources Manager
I forgot about the email because frankly, vaguely worded "Marketing" jobs are not what I do. I am not a salesperson. I am a copywriter with experience working at actual Marketing Firms who would never expect their writers to perform actual sales or work with the public. Several days passed and I received a phone call from Brandy DeVore asking me to call them about a job. I like to research the companies that call me, before I talk to them and so I typed their name into a Google search. This website came up as did MANY others, documenting their exact scam and shady business model. There must be millions of people (not an exaggerated number) online with stories about getting scammed by this pyramid scheme.
I called Brandy DeVore back and she started by saying she had some questions to ask me about my resume. I replied by saying that the ad was a little vague and I had some questions myself about this "Marketing Position." I asked where they got their money from, about their business model, about the nature of the work in detail, what I would be doing there. She had vague answers and sometimes no answers at all. I finally asked why her company was on ripoffreport.com and she was dumbstruck. She said she had no answer for me but her manager, who was out of town, Richard Patterson, would be able to answer me when he returned from out of town on Monday.
I doubt he or anyone else from ths company will call back and answer any questions that I have. I also advise everyone who has contact with this company or any of the hundreds of thousands of company subsidiaries and affiliates researches and reads of personal accounts of those who have worked with them before. There are accounts from all levels in the company, not just those that, as the company claims, "couldn't hack it." It looks like a VERY negative thing to become involved with and no true marketing professional would give them the time of day. I'm glad I didn't waste my time with an interview and I'm pissed that companies like this are allowed to exist and exploit people who don't know any better.
