 As a consumer I can't help but think we are an educated group of people in today's market. There is a thing called a Car Fax. It costs hardly nothing. Before buying any car why would you not be responisble enough to do a car fax????   In your statement you list not (1) item of anything wrong with the car. That is good. So basically the responsibility is on the consumer to run a car fax or bring a mechanic to check out automobile. If you have done neither then the laziness as a consumer is on YOU.  I run car faxes and call my insurance company every time I buy a car. You have to in todays market. I get an insurance quote and find out if a car has any insurance savings such as airbags or anit-lock brakes.

If NYS does not report salvage after ten years then the seller did nothing wrong. It was more likely your responsibility.  Buyer Beware. So many tools available in todays times. Thank heaven car ended up being a good one or else you would  have complained. Atleast you got your moneys worth. Next time take the extra effort and pay the money to do research. Best of luck.
