Bright Effects Energy Efficient Bulbs Lowes Fire Danger, Made In China, Recalls, Lowes Return Foley, Alabama

I purchased Bright Effects Energy Efficient Light Bulbs at our local Lowe's in order to save money on our utility bills.  Just recently put the bulbs in a standing lamp.  My husband turned the lamp off last night, heard a loud pop noise, had all the power shut off in our living room and smelled burning wires.  He unpluged the lamp, checked the blown fuse in our power box and pulled the light bulb out of the lamp.  I wish I could show you the photo we posted on Facebook!  The bulb burned up at the connection to the lamp as well as burning up the lamp wiring!  Just glad we were home when it blew, after just returning from out of town.  Because who knows what whould have happened if we had been gone and the bulb blew?!  Looks like a major fire hazard!!!!!!!  Calling our local Lowe's today to see what they will do.  Expensive lamp is fried!!!!
