I took my dad into this facility for extended rehab. He could walk but needed more therapy. I would visit him every day to keep him company and see how his rehab was going. He could walk but with help.



In January his 2.5 months or so of rehabilitation failed fast from when my family found a lump about the size of a golf ball on his butt. They let him sit in a wheel chair for about three weeks while this lump got bigger and a black spot formed. It grew to the size of about a silver dollar with the lump under the skin about the size of my fist before they took him to a hospital for surgery to remove a growth caused by poor hygiene that the nurses and doctors ignored.



Every time I would go to visit him he would be sitting or laying in urine and I would have to get an employee to get him cleaned up. I would never again take my family or recommend this facility of torture. The state of Florida(AHCA), after my complaint, made them rewrite their healthcare plan.

If anybody is going to put their loved one in a healthcare facility in the state of Florida ask to see their insurance for the policy limits and run an ad in the local media to see if there is people with complaints about the place before putting them in there.

What you also have to be aware of is that if an employee of one of these facilities drops your relative when a transfer is in progress they do not have to report this in the records as in the case of my dad. The way I see it is there is no law in the state requiring the documentation of health problems created by doctors, nurses or aides through their neglect of people in their care.

One of the other agencies that looked at this is FMQAI which is made up of doctors and nurses. They have the timeline for his care all wrong and found no fault, but there again they are made up of doctors and nurses, one group protecting another.
